Inaugural draft help?

I am having a lot of unexpected difficulty with my inaugural draft. (fictional league).

It is an online league and we've decided to forgo a manual draft and just have me, the commish, do an autodraft.

15 team league with 5 minor league levels (assuming the minor league complex doesn't count?). I've tried running it with 162 rounds, 185 rounds, and 150 rounds. Probably the best result with the 185. I've run without financial constraints and with (120 million each team). (2775 eligible players in the pool). In theory 2250 should fill all our rosters with the top 2250 players, but it doesn't seem to.

When I run it, no matter what settings, whether I have the program fill the roster or not, it shoves some players into the DFA (part of the problem being that those DFA'd include some of the better players drafted). Also doesn't necessarily draft me a starting roster that has a starting quality player at every position.

Does anyone have any recommended settings that should I be using so that it fills the teams with a legit lineup and doesn't DFA anyone?

Why don't you just move the DFA players as you wish to the level that you feel they belong before continuing? Just release the players you feel don't belong. It will take some time to go through 15 teams but, it sounds like it is worth it.
