2010 San Francisco Giants
I have wanted to go back and start a game managing the 2010 SFG. The drawback of historical in OOTP is the finances are fake (Markus said a while back they are created at game start, I believe, rather than the actual contracts) and the coaches are not real.
Thus, I had the idea to go back and download OOTP 11 and see if I could create a 2010 MLB game, then just import through each version to OOTP 20, and play from there. Didn't work. At all. The first OOTP I bought was 14 so it may just be that I am trying to use the demo, but the players are fictional rather than Bumgarner, Posey, etc. Does anyone have any ideas about a way to get the 2010 season file? Probably not doable, but you guys seem to always have interesting ideas so I thought it worth asking. |

Are you thinking that the coaches and finances are real in OOTP 11 and that is why you want to start there?

Wasn't OOTP 16 the first with full mlb/milb license?

I don't remember if it was 16 exactly, but you are right that it was somewhere in there. I go back to 14, though, and you did have real MLB players and coaches, and I believe the contracts were close to correct if not 100% accurate.

I never even noticed they weren't real, and I very clearly remember my annual ritual: load game, start season, try to trade Zito. If his details weren't exact, they were close.

Mets actually have 2 separate deals with Bonilla not just the one everyone talks about. He has a deal from his 1st time as a Met too. lol
And they had a handful of others. Think some they traded or split with other teams. Not sure of exact total now. Mets thought they were out smarting everyone by investing with Bernie Madoff. Didn't really work out with that Bernie guy lol |
