Playing as Manager ONLY trade question

Hey so hope i can explain this and forgive me if this has been brought up.

I'm playing as the Rockies as the manager only and I've had one trade so far by my GM in the beginning of the year for Choo from Texas. My question is, has anyone noticed the GM trades being down from last years version? Also has anyone got to the trade deadline as a manager only and noticed the trades with your team start to pick up?

As always loving the game.

Thanks

I can't help too much as I am still in the early part of the season - not sure how you would be at the July 31 deadline yet if you were playing all games out as MGR-only, at least if you have a life.

There was some talk during OOTP 19 that the program did include an increase at certain times of the year and decrease at others. People seemed to talk as if that was somewhat new, and I felt like in OOTP 19 it was a pretty fair track - trades were almost non-existent in April/May, a few things in June, lots for two months, then almost nothing until November. That's how it should be.

Of course, Farhan may blow this all up at the rate he's going!!!

I play at work during the day with Teamviewer so I'm able to get through games easily.

One-pitch mode gets through a game in 5-10 minutes.

Yeah, I get that. It seems like most of us on here that play MGR-only do so to get the immersion that playing games out can give you. I only do one game a night during the week, might get two or even three in on a weekend day depending on family. I keep an Excel sheet with a lot of stats as well, so it takes me around 20-30 minutes to play a game and another 15 or so to update my sheet. I enjoy going pbp when someone is on base and often late in a tight game, so on occasion a game can take 40-45 minutes to play.

When I have done the 10 minute one-pitch game, I miss the immersion and don't feel like I know my team the way I want.

Does this mean you only get through 2 seasons a year? How long has your current game been going?

It does take about 7-8 months to get through a season with playoffs. Work sometimes sidetracks me for a few days where it's either see the wife and kids in the evening or play a pretend baseball game. Future health depends on seeing the wife.

It can be a little odd with the "offseason". One year, it happened to fall in mid-December, which was great because I just took the next three weeks off. Another year, I literally finished the season one day and simmed through the offseason the next day, was playing game one of the next season within 48 hours. Honestly, that blew up because I got about a week in and was wiped out emotionally (had won the WS the previous "year"). I wasn't ready to start up again, so will do that differently if it happens again.

I have had a few saves through the years as I was probably 3-4 years into one when 3-D came out, and that just changed the game for me. I had done the Red Sox starting in 2013 through 2016 or so, but when 3-D hit, I really wanted to go NL and play as a smallball team. I then did the one mentioned above, tried a few others that lasted a week or month, and finally found my current setup where I am in year 3.
