Award Voting v. Manual Award Voting

Could someone explain the difference? I know that Manual Award Voting overrides the AI, but what is the "Award Voting" tab do? The manual doesn't seem to clarify.

Does it allow me, as a human manager, to submit a ballot to be considered against each AI-operated GM? (I have six teams) Something else?

For reference, I am playing a solo fictional league.

Manual award voting is if you want to explicitly force the awards.

The regular award voting is like for HOF or All-Star voting. Your ballot will be combined with AI ballots to pick the winners.
