It's okay, though. With my points from my all-stars, used that money to buy card packs, and drew a Sale card. Now got the tough call of trying to sell him for a nice return, or throwing him into my rotation and enjoying a top card.
You overbid my 812 bet so I had no choice to buy it now:P

My first big card was a Chris Sale too at day one with the free pack..That was an easy decision at this time to sell it at 62K.

In the beta, I sold my first one, bought more packs, and drew another one.

Yeah, would have been nice to sell at that. I bankrolled my team heavily off the 15k I sold Altuve for. Just sold the Sale card, but it cleared less than 30k. Although did get a Goldschmidt from packs, and can now re-invest the rest of the money into other guys.

Yeah, big card drop very fast in the last 3-4 days..Hardly sold my Degrom yesterday for 35K. I want Pedro or Carter but I find the price for both very high for now..I'm waiting for a deal.

Gotta add Matt Kemp to the list. 66/63 CON/POW is nothing to scoff at, and he's only rated 58 overall. It's probably his abysmal fielding that drags him down, but just stick him at DH and you're golden. Plus he rakes against lefties.

I found it necessary to sell my Wallach. Congrats to the person who bought him tonight for 900 points. I hope he hits better for you than he ever did for me.

I loved the defense and the power. I can overlook a low batting average, but when you bat in the .090's for an entire month (June), you're not cutting it. I have moved on to higher contact options, which, for the time being, means Joe Cronin is learning 3B for my team.

I played Wallach for a month stats was not very good, not very bad with .220 3hr and 13 rbi but he made 4 errors at defense and not better then Kris Bryant at 3rd base for me.

Andres Galarraga (72 ov) in a platoon role at DH/1B (vs Lefty) is very good with .305 14 hr 38 rbi in 150 AB

Darren O'Day (75 ov) is very good in relief and Rick Porcello (69 ov) can be a good cheap starter.

What I'm really talking about is not 80 rated Gold cards. It's the 60's & 70's rated cards that are really good. Gold cards to me can't be undervalued. I understand your comp of Davis to other Gold cards to but Gold cards are Gold cards...lol

So, you think that low golds that are much better than some mid and high diamonds are not undervalued? I think both under and over value cards run the gamut of all the cards.

Agreed! Diamond pitchers (as a whole) are overrated compared to Gold.

I'm not so sure. Looking through, I just can't get excited about a lot of the gold arms. But by the time you get to the diamonds they have higher stuff and less flaws elsewhere.

In the leagues I'm in the Diamond pitchers have an overall ERA that is higher than the Gold pitchers. It used to be a larger gap, but has gotten smaller until they are almost identical, but even if the same that would make the Diamond pitchers overvalued still. In over 10000 innings, Diamonds are 3.66 while in just short of 34000 innings, golds are 3.63. The gap used to be 3.78 to 3.92, so it may still be that the Diamonds will surpass the golds, but those are the only categories where the higher category has a higher ERA. For the cost difference, it makes gold pitchers a bargain in comparison.

For me Gerrit Cole pitch well for my starter number 1. My gold pitchers are better but they cost more in PP. Cole is now at the same price or cost a little less then my gold pitchers.

Larry Dierker seems to be on nearly every good team's pitching staff. In my Bronze League, a Dieker was two of the top three SP in the game. And, he's still going for about 3000 PP it looks like.

Not sure how valued he is around the leagues, and I paid a lot on the AH for him, but if you get a chance to pick up Bob Boone go for it.

There are some decent historical gold SP -- Dizzy Dean (88), Halladay (89), Tiny Bonham (89), Gaylord Perry (89) -- but not many and they definitely aren't undervalued (5-10k PP). The live golds, and the live diamonds for that matter, really aren't all that great.

In fact, outside of Corbin, I don't think any of the live golds are worth the money.

Undervalued Silvers

I recently started an all-silver team and have been amazed at some of the players available at this tier. Some guys who I think stack up with many golds (and some diamonds) and cost under/around 1,000 PP include:

SP: Martinez (72), Sad Sam Jones (72), Ojeda (71), Raschi (72), Swan (71)

RP: Bummer (79), Morrow (78), Soria (79), Burgmeister (78), Kerfeld (78), Nicasio (79)

IF: Skowron (74), Robinson (78), Urias (79), Hamner (73), Carew (75), Collins (78), Dan T. Murphy (79), Mattingly (77), Reyes (79), Logan (79), Dark, Vizquel, Mize, Oquendo, Aguilar, Simmons, Sax, Groat, Gilliam

OF: Webb (73), Robert (79), Anderson (74), Ashburn (75), Waner (76), Oliva (79), McReynolds (78), Victorino (72), Slaughter (79), Stephenson (71), Carter (74), Lonnie Smith, Manush

Raschi won 15 games for one of my teams and threw a no hitter early in the season.

Aaron Loup is pretty good if you have space for a LH Specialist.

Seems to get hit hard by RHP but still put up positive WAR. Luckily you can set up strategy for these kinds of things.

Edit: MadBum is also really good for 75 overall. Won pitcher of the month in my silver league this month. Decent pitching attributes across the board and very decent stamina. You can also put him as a 2 way player and he's a better PH than most catchers lmao
