Fictional League

Should I keep my 24 team fictional game at 2 divisions per league (6 teams per division) or should I break it down to 3 divisions (4 teams per) and add a WC spot to the playoff hunt?

Why will random strangers on a forum know what you would prefer more than you? Do whatever you want, who cares?

Either way, with 12 teams in each league, you can get the old 18 vs. divisional match ups and 12 vs. the other divisions. I loved those schedules in the NL back in the 80's. It really does boil down to whether you want a WC or not. You a purist? I've used both, and like both set ups.

I think I'm going to keep the 2 division set up. I have a 162 game schedule.

I struggled with this same exact question. I'm glad you asked it. I thought about 3 divisions but that leads to wild cards. I loathe when wildcards get hot for the playoffs and steal what rightfully belongs to a pennant winner. So, what I did with my new 24 is to eliminate wildcards by going with 2 divisions.

Let the marathon winners duke it out I say!

Yeah...I also settled on this team..Phoenix Rays.. Since joining the league in 1975, they have only had 2 winning seasons. I'm currently in off-season following 2013 season. Here is a snapshot of their last several seasons to get an idea. LOL...

Strangers? Nah, after 5-10 years hanging out with the same people I would hardly call them strangers. I may not know what they look like but I know that they are my friends.

What you have looks great. Nothing wrong with sticking with it. Quite straight forward, as well.

That formula made creating your own schedules a breeze.

I like the old school 12 team two division league but then you lose the wild card round. Unless you use two wild cards.

I think that's what I would do. two divisions, two division winners and the top two records in the league get wild cards. Three postseason rounds all seven games.

I'd say keep it like that, I myself have started a league and have 16 teams total and have 8 in each division and im thinking of keeping it like that all the way up to a 28 team league 14 in each division

I just might add wild card into it thou

Agreed. I've been on these boards for over 10 years! I'm hardly a stranger!
