Multiple short lists?
Any chance of getting the ability to have multiple shortlists in v15?

this is a great idea. Would love to see this!
To have a shortlist with the ability to highlight different numbers, be it (single season and/or career) stats, attributes, ratings or whatever would be great in combination with multiple lists.

I love the idea but how/why have multiple shortlist?
Coaching staff? Pitchers only? Dumb question, but yeah, I'm curious!

I shortlist players that I'm looking to possibly acquire, but I would love to be able to separate those guys into multiple lists for A) players with expiring contracts, B) players in arbitration/automatic contract years, and C) players under standard contracts. It'd make it easier to see, at a glance, how feasible it would be to nab each guy, as well as how I need to go about it.

Is it normal that after reading those 3 answers I have an urge to play OOTP?
I support the idea even more now! Thanks!!

I would like to compile a list for top 10 players in the game each season showing their career stats or current season stats. After 20 years I would have 20 lists to compare...would be kinda neat.

Despite all of the cool stuff upcoming, I consider multiple/tabbed/editable shortlists a 10/10 in importance.
Edit; for all of the reasons already given.

Peripheral comment on the creation of these shortlists.
I've been experimenting with Deja Bru's setup of Only Personal Messages and Only Players on Shortlist, and this option further expands that idea. Potentially, you could select some shortlists to be included in news, others not, but overall I suppose, if the shortlist exists, you'd WANT news about the player, right?

You could use a coloured flag system.
Put a green flag and blue flag on a player and he would show up on both lists. Put just a green flag on, and only on the green list etc. |

I currently use shortlists to TAG players with a reminder who later become minor league coaches/managers/scouts and make them recurring for multiple changes Mgr--SD---GM or change positions (P to LF)
Also, for team's retire numbers (but that will be in 15) This would be a great way to cut the easy ones who I need to make a coach upon their retirement, and the ones who I need to keep an eye on and no color system please, unless it's yellow, black, white, blue. I'm colorblind

Besides all the uses in the leagues I'm active in (Rookies to watch, trade targets, players I've traded, etc..) multiple shortlists would be extremely useful for testing purposes. Make changes to parameters and monitor a group of 'test subjects'. Like when I've tested Feeder Leagues and want to watch to see how certain subsets of players do.
I would imagine multiple shortlists would be very useful for the Beta Team. Personally I don't think they need to be color coded. Just being able to filter by the 'Shortlist Name' would work for me. Last edited by byzeil; 01-28-2014 at 11:18 AM. |
