Feature: Presets
Any screen where you can change options, have a button called SAVE PRESETS and it saves all the options from that screen with the name you want. Then of course, there is an option to LOAD PRESETS.
The presets could be located in a PRESETS FOLDER and have some tag in the name or extension to show what 'page' they belong to. An example would be the screen where you set up the AI options. I set all the options I want, then save the preset as LARRY'S HISTORICAL. Then the next time I create a league, I just load this preset and all the settings are set. I could have different presets based on the league format I use. It could also be handy during beta so that we can make sure the settings stay constant between leagues while finding bugs.

Excellent idea. In a game with as many options as this, it's actually hard to remember how you previously set everything up. This would save so much time.

I would suggest it'd also be helpful to have an associated text file or something which lists exactly what options are on or off for each game screen. Thus you could open that file and review precisely what that preset has enabled or disabled.
Even better would be the ability to edit that preset text file and save the changes as a new file which could then be imported/opened within OOTP. That'd make it easy for users to create and share preset files. |
