Setting up a fictional Indy league to run with real players?
So my question is what would be the best way to set up a 2 league 12 team independent league using real players? I’ve tried before by setting up the league and then bringing in MLB and the other independent leagues and deleting the other Indys to clear their rosters but I always run into the same issues. I want the roster to have a mix of guys with experience in mlb and the upper minors. The main issue is after clearing out the fictional players on start up I end up with mainly rookie ball flame outs being signed and maybe one or two guys with AAA experience on each team.
Is there a way I should try setting up the financial system that would have more players from the deleted independents to sign? Should I create the league first clear the rosters than import the other leagues and players I want? Any ideas would be appreciated ideally I’ll be able to run this league side by side with the mlb and minors and make a good place for guys to go to that are free agents for a season instead of just sitting in a pool not playing. All ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated and I’ll let you know how it works if anyone does offer me some help with this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If I understand correctly what you want, you need an independent league with high prestige and a lot of money for salaries. You might try setting League Reputation to 8 and giving each team a National Media Baseline (representing subventions from generous owners) of half or two-thirds an MLB team's annual budget. The independent teams should then be able to attract near-MLB quality free agents who can't find a deal with an MLB club.
