1959 World Series Quickstart

Back by popular demand (j/k), the 1959 World Series Quickstart for OOTP16. Dedicated to my friend, Jack Kelly. I hope it will be available at OOTP Mods soon. In the meantime, it's available here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...ries.quick.zip

Some screenshots of the background graphics for the Dodgers and White Sox. (It's easy to replace them, if you wish.) Also, I simmed the series. It was a good one, with the Dodgers eke-ing out an extra-inning Game 7 win. Enjoy!

NOTE: I could not find a good daytime picture of the LA Coliseum, so I used a night picture. Also, I believe Duke Snider was injured during the Series. If you wish to injure him after game 2 (I think?), you can do it manually.

Super WOW !!

Getting ready to dl now. Can't wait to play my WSox with the new vibrant OOTP16...terrific script...male narrator on my Win8 laptop...and nice added crowds sounds/music etc.

Splendid!! Hope I can get my Go-Go WSox to 7 and Staley and Lown are sharp along with Little Nel and big Klu . : )

You are correct to a degree...Snider played the first two games...then missed games 3-4. He had a pinch hit appearance in game 5 and did play as starter in game 6 with 3 at bats. Wynn had trouble with lefties and Snider and Moon made him pay.

This 70 year old is getting ready tonight for the 59 World Series on OOTP16...thanks to Pstrickert !!

Even though I enabled the option to "keep this season's statistics", I noticed that the 1959 stats are not listed in the player records. I submitted a bug report. Nonetheless, the 1959 stats DO appear on the "Real" stat line. So, all is not lost.

Really having a blast playing OOTP16 with my 59 WSox. Superb!

One little tiny side note...I double checked just to be sure and yet my 70 old eyes still missed it. Game has McAnany playing RF and batting 8th but it was really Jim Rivera. : )

It would be so perfect but when I have the narrator on there is no ball flight...the ball just shows up where it ends in the play. Wonder if that wouldn't be a problem if I had a more powerful machine. Win7...duo core...3ghz...4gig...Radeon HD 4350. : (

Still great though...top notch...thanks again !!!!

I'll see if we have a bug report about the ball flight. I know I've heard other people mention it. Glad you're enjoying the game!

Appreciate your time. Playing the game is several steps better IMO than last years. The added music...crowd sounds etc during key play situations and the very much improved script is splendid.

And I have noticed in the games I played before getting your 59 update and including the 59 games...the pc controlled pitchers are doing a very realistic job of trying to pick players off. And the script with that is nice.

Super enjoyment with the 59 World Series...just wish I could do a season with roster updates etc in a non-complicated manner. : )

Jack, I was able to find an old bug report. Believe it or not, I was the one who reported it!

So, it's been a problem for a while now. Hopefully, we can get it rectified. Hope you and your wife have a blessed Easter.
