Contract Extension - Query
Why would this offered contract result in getting this message back?
Hes a stud 1st overall pick whos made the majors after only 18 months in the minors, and being frugal as i am with my budget, i want to extend him now (a la Matt Moore etc), covering his three league minimum years of $500,000, his three arby years and two years of free agency. 2016 is about to start and hes on the minimum of course, which is why this extension would start from '17. What is so wrong with these numbers that my owner wont even let me offer it? I have messed around with them to a point where he will, but i want to make this offer on my terms. Any thoughts and advice as to why this is happening and how to avoid it? Cheers! |

I believe the logic in the game is that you cannot go 100% over the lowest years salary.
