When do new personnel appear?
Um...see the title.
PS to former trainer Rick McWane, who "has no interest in working with Minnesota..." Eat it. |

Meh. Figured as much. A lackluster crop at best this year. Thanks for the info though.
On a related note, will retiring players go on to be coaches, or will all the personnel from here on out be fictional? |

You can click on a retired player's Action button to turn him into a coach, but I haven't seen the game create anything but fictional coaches/scouts. I kept a close watch on it this past off-season and signed a Legendary/Outstanding scout. Only concern is he's 68.

I'm not seeing that with any of the players who retired this year. Does the option only appear randomly?

If you use the MLB setup with all the history attached and everything, I've had quite a few recognizable names turn into coaches and the like every offseason. Sometimes, annoyingly, the game creates duplicates of current managers and GMs (I've had Mike Sciosia and Kenny Williams, for example, created while they were still fulfilling their roles with the Angels and White Sox in the game.)
As for how to turn retired players into coaches, go to the players tab under Index, retired players, and find the one you want to turn into a coach. Once on that page, look at the bottom of the page and click Action. One of the options should be Turn into Coach. |

Don't you have to be in Commish Mode to turn former players into coaches? I stay in CM so not sure. I just ended the 2004 season. Notable former players now coaches are: Harvey Haddix, Doc Ellis, Bert Blyleven & Rex Hudler. I get between 2-4 each year and 5+ fictional.
