The Yakanglers beat the LA Trolly Dodgers 14-4 in game 6 to advance to the P414 series. Red Schoendienst's 9 RBI day led the way for the YakAnglers.
We'll face the New Jersey Rasslers, who got to the series by upsetting the 138 win and 9-Time Series champ, Battery Park City Tamp, and by beating the Bentley Falcons. The Rasslers are an extremely good team and it'll take a monumental effort and even more luck for the YakAnglers to take the series. Just realized that this may be the same team the Miners played a season or three ago in the World Series.

P440: The Inevitable Finally Happened, or, Third Time's the Charm!
So, an inevitable clash of titans in a Perfect League Series finally happened, as the Amberg Legends dispatched the Lansing Lugnuts and the Huntley Red Raiders defeated the Omar Panthers, each in 6 games. So it will be the 130-32 Legends, throwing Stan Coveleski, Vida Blue, Ed Walsh, and (99) Walter Johnson, against the 124-38 Red Raiders, starting Ed Walsh, Rube Waddell, Roger Clemens, and Curt Schilling. Standouts in Amberg's lineup are Willie Mays and Luke Appling, who finished first and third in the AC in WAR (7.8 and 7.0), respectively.
Amberg is looking to match Huntley's 4 Perfect League titles, while this is Huntley's third attempt at its fifth Perfect League championship. Will Amberg live up to its moniker? Or will Huntley finally win one for the thumb? The story will be told...tonight.

I opened 9 packs with my pack-only team down in the Silver WS today...nothing over a bronze. D:
The Chicago Machine faltered in the LCS but had a good run. All the whales were in the other conference. Excited for next week! |

Game 7 in the NLCS......Saints against a tough team.
Marquard against Kevin Brown to decide it.

Amberg scored 1,067 runs this season. Huntley scored 1,030.
So, naturally, in game 1...

Game 1 of the P414 Series matched our Spud Chandler against their Ed Walsh. Chandler goes 8 innings and gives up three runs, while Walsh goes 6 and also gives up 3 runs. In the bottom of the 9th, tied at 3, the Rasslers Cy Seymour hits a walk-off single after Gagne walks 2 batters.
Game 2 featured our SE Harry Brecheen against their SE Vida Blue, and neither pitcher disappointed. Vida Blue goes 7 and gives up 2 hits, but Brecheen is lights out, going 9 innings, giving up 3 hits and throws a Maddux. In the top of the 9th with the score tied at 0, 98 Vlad hits a double to chase Doud Jones. McGraw comes in and gets a force out and Vlad advances to third. Colavito then hits a sac fly to plate what is the winning run to tie up the series.

So I set my playoff 4-man rotation before going to sleep last night,
I wasn't really sure about it but I didn't wake up until game 5 of the LCS. We'd swept the LDS, 3-0. And we were up 3-1 in the LCS when I woke up so it worked pretty well. We won game 5 of the LCS & clinched our first ever Perfect Series. But were swept by H.B. Cube, 4-0. Our bullpen, a big strength all year, lost the first 3 games & Santana got lit up like a Christmas Tree in game 4. The big challenge was supposed to be scoring runs against them. But it turns out their offense is pretty good, too. This was H.B. Cube's 4th PL Title.

P440: Gettin' Kinda Tense, Aren't Ya?
Apologies to anyone who is annoyed by me continuing to post recaps from the P440 Perfect League Series, but you have to admit, this is a tense, well-played, low-scoring, dynamic series so far! Game 4...

May as well buy the game 2, 3, 4 times if you want to manage 6, 9, 12 teams and spend more on your teams than the cost of the game...ha...maybe there's other ways but sometimes I feel like having more than just one team, but figured I could just have all the fun I wanted to with the one franchise in this version since it's my first rodeo.
Thinking of adding 1, 2 more...how many more seasons can we expect, rougly?

The YakAnglers drop games 3 and 4 by the scores of 9-7 and 10-2. We were leading in game 3, but 2 runs in the 8th and 9th by the NJ Rasslers were to much to overcome.
Now just waiting for the "long sim of death".

P440: They're Always the Last Place You Look...
Hours before game 5:
JasonC23 rummages around the storage closet in his office. "Let's see...printouts from my long-running White Sox dynasty...sticky note reminders that if I spell Markus with a 'c,' he 'randomly' places Huntley in the same league as Singapore...ah-ha! Guys! Guys!" Entire Huntley Red Raiders lineup appears in the doorway. "Yes?" JasonC23 holds up his discovery. "I found 'em!" Huntley batters grab their bats from their beloved manager. "Thanks, skip!"

P440: And the Medallion Goes to...
Well, how about that...
Season wrap-up to follow, but for now, the champagne flows freely in the joyous Red Raiders locker room...
