pappyzan, this is what happens with stacked divisions, like the AC West this year. Normally, Cigar City, Washington Senators, and the Southern Southpaws coast to the division championships. With all three in the same division (along with two other pretty good teams), we are all struggling just to get to playoffs. Even my Southpaws only have an 80% chance of making playoffs (based on their calculations). They have been in the playoffs all ten seasons they've been in perfect, but they could miss out this year.

Standings in Perfect with 1 series to go. 5 OL teams guaranteed for the playoffs, possibly 6. 4 teams fighting for the final WC in AC, 3 of those OL.

Would be Palolo's 2nd trip to the playoffs in Perfect, or Ewa Beach's 4th, or Cigar City's 9th (would be 8 straight if they make it).

Boppers are down. They could not overcome their terrible first half. The great escape was not in the cards.

They will go lick their wounds by beating up on non-OL teams for a few weeks before giving it another shot.

Arrow Silver 313 -OL Playoffs

Mudville finally makes the Playoffs.

There is joy once again in Mudville as Muffins have finally had their first winning season, in the Silver League, and have also made the Silver playoffs.

Mudville was able to turn around a .500 season by getting hot in the last two months of the season posting a 17-9 record in August and a 18-8 record for September.

The last series of the regular season had Mudville matched up against fellow OL team Terra Incognita Rustlers, with both teams neck and neck, fighting for the AC East Division title.

Mudville ended up taking two out of the three games with the climax being game 162 for the season, with Mudville pulling out a win in 15 innings, to win their AC East Division by one game.

The Playoff tree is as follows.

D374 Final Regular Season Update

Virginia Crosses The Finish Line A Hair Ahead of Topeka To Claim Diamond Crown

In a race that came down to the wire, the Virginia Freeloaders edged out the Topeka Defenders by the thinnest of margins, winning the Diamond OL title by 8-ten-thousands of a point. Congratulations to the Freeloaders!

Non OL Playoffs News
As expected, 7 OL teams made the playoffs. Given the playoff configuration, there will be one guaranteed promotion to Perfect, and four potential promotions.

No team will be relegated from Diamond.

For the 6th time since joining one of my teams had to play a 163rd game to secure a wild card. For the 6th time we have lost that game and for the 4th time we have blown a lead in the 8th inning or later. Everett dropped a 5-4 decision to the NY Convicts. going to the 9th we held a 4-2 lead and the AI decided there was no reason to bring in Rob Dibble, my rested closer to finish off NY.

Everett joins San Pedro who didn't qualify while the Knights will play in the divisional series. Boogie's season is a bit of smoke and mirrors when you remove the streak they had in August they are a .500 team at best.

Thieves on Fire in Final Month, Steal OL G328 Crown

Woodinville ripped off an 11-4 final sim to vault from 5th to their second OL crown. Washington, at 4-2, was the only other leader to post a winning month.

The playoff tree is attached. Frankenthal will be headed to silver next year.

As Edster mentioned in his post, the most interesting game had no OL crown implications.

The Everett Silvertips went to game 163 to try and nail down the second Wild Card spot in the NC. The aggravating funkiness of the PT AI was in full flower during the game.

With Everett leading 4-2 in the top of the 9th, the "manager" lifted Roy Halladay after 109 pitches. That move was typical, as I have seen my 100 Cy Young routinely pulled at around 100 pitches, even with a shutout going, across 11 seasons, despite having the hook slider all the way to the right.

In a curious, but all too common, move, the "manager" elected to start the inning with Charles Nagy, leaving closer Rob Dibble sitting in the bullpen. A single, a walk, and a Miguel Tejada infield single later, the bases were full. Robinson Cano cut the Silvertips' lead to 4-3 with another infield single. Nagy managed to get Kevin McReynolds to ground to third, with the lead runner forced out at home.

The "manager" mercifully pulled Nagy and waved his right hand, signalling the bullpen. As Alice said, things get curiouser and curiouser, when Phil Regan, not Dibble, answered the summons. He managed to record a popout to hold the lead.

Then, predictably, somebody named Jeff McNeil (don't know these new guys) lines a two-run single, before Regan can escape, with Everett now trailing. The other "manager" brings on his closer, Rick Aguilera, and the Silvertips go in order to come up just short.

Bulldogs Hold on for Third Crown in OL S313

Antique went 9-7 the final month to hold onto the top spot over Terra Incognita, who poted a lackluster 6-6 record. Melaka made a strong charge at 14-6, but ran out of track. No one will be relegated from silver.

Both Maxfire and AGDion have their OL teams in the playoffs. Hope I didn't just jinx them.

Perfect league standings:

The Vikings sail past Bold Strategy to give Victoria the OL crown.

overall, Bold Strategy takes the top overall seed, and California nabs the top seed in the AC. Southern claimed the AC West division title; and wild card births were claimed by Washington and Cigar City in the AC; and Victoria in the NC.

relegations:

-Green Lake
-Chippewa
-Roncali
-Blitzkrieg (also opting out of OL next season)

Somehow, we didn't get relegated. I still don't know how.
