2047 General Discussion
Figured I'd start one off because after a long wait the Sidewinders have made the perfect leagues. Had made another sub-league series but forgot to check the team, but apparently they won it all (Wish we could check previous seasons). With A-Rod in the auction house and Paul Molitor taking over 1st base, this team is also entirely gold and below. Here's to hoping they can stay competitive in P402.
Anyone else still climbing the ranks? |

Perfect .407...
Perfect .407 has a really weird setup--only 20 teams total, 10 in each league, 5 in each division. Looks like there are still 2 wild cards in each league. Anybody have any idea how the playoffs will work?

1 month to go and I am just 1 game clear of relegation. I am sure it's better for me PP-wise to go back to Diamond, but I hate the thought of relegation.

Raccoons have been an upper-half Diamond team for a while that routinely gets dumped in the wild card game. It happened again today, shut out actually.
But I had some accumulated PP, bought five packs, and four of them had at least a gold card, and two of them were even diamond. I put the Aaron Judge up for auction, but I will keep the 1986 Mike Scott, even though he almost murdered the Mets' title run in '86.

Came back to some heartbreaking finishes for my teams. Hoboken Zephyrs were in the second WC position in P423 until a 4-game losing streak to end the season, leaving them a game out. To add insult to injury, they were no-hit in the final game of the year.
The Port Washington Pack Rats made it as a WC in D386 and managed to make it to the sub-league series, where after holding a 3-1 lead in the series, lost the last 3 to miss out on their second opportunity in Perfect. The Pack Rats at least pulled an 88 Brad Lidge during some pack ripping after the defeat. He'll slot into the bullpen to replace Mike Marshall.

Ended up 3 games on the good side of relegation, so back in Perfect again next year. Going to try to sell my lowest rated SP *Drysdale*to get enough PP to get a better starter. I was 13th in runs allowed and clearly that's what I need to improve upon the most.

It took 29 seasons, but my FTP Ohio Flying Squirrels finally won a title. They were getting promoted too soon in the early going and I did not pay enough attention to them. But they finally took Gold!

This is a team of all non-live cards, so now I have to wait for a vet better than a 1400 PP closer to get on the auction block. Mike Marshall isn't good enough and I can't afford the 10,000 and up that are on there now.

Despite winning their 3rd Perfect League championship in the last 5 seasons, the Oakland Athletics have decided to make a change in center field going into the 2048 season.
93 rated Ichiro Suzuki has taken over for 96 rated Bryce Harper who has been demoted to the reserve roster. The move is expected to add an extra 2 wins per season for the Athletics. In order to make this move, the Athletics traded away roster reserves of 96 Ted Williams and 97 Christy Mathewson. Losing these players shouldn't hurt the Athletics as Williams had never suited up for the team and Mathewson hadn't suited up in 4 seasons. The Athletics wish these players the best on their new teams. |

The Sidewinders got bounced in the most harsh fashion, losing 110 games in P402. Actually kinda strange, as Phil Rizzuto put up a -1.5 WAR season and was way below his usual defensive production. Not sure if it's just the quality of hitters catching up to my pitching strategy (Best pitching stat was BABIP, which was middle of the pack, but the batting average against our pitchers was worst in the league), or just bad luck hitting my infield.
Either way, back to Diamond to begin the push again, good luck everyone on the upcoming season. |

I had to post this game. I won 33 - 0. Not sure if that is the largest shutout margin of victory in OOTP, but it certainly would be in real life.

For the first time in 29 seasons my Doubledays and Seawolves will face each other in the best of 5 playoff series as both took 1st in their respective divisions.

I am guaranteed a Perfect championship as both of my teams made it to the Perfect series in P412.
