Taking Over A Team at end of Season
I am trying something new. I have created a fictional league. I have simmed forward five years and plan on taking over a team now that the playoffs are over.
When I normally play, I have always taken over at the beginning of the season (never simming ahead). I was wondering what most of you do when taking over a team at the start of the offseason? Appreciate the suggestions. Taz |

This is my favorite way to play. I go through the entire team to review every player then focus on free agents and trades to build the team.

I usually start by clearing the roster of bad contracts, AAAA players that the AI should have cut long ago, and players that don’t fit the system. I look at what’s left to determine the weakest spots that can’t be filled with young players from the system and go into the market for replacements. The most important thing for me is to get the financial situation under control quickly and have flexibility for future seasons.
