My team that visited y'all is in a weird 22 team league. Two divs of 6 teams and 2 of 5. Second week in a row in this setup. Completely balanced schedule, but seeding is two division winners against two wild cards straight to DS with no WC game. And for second week in a row, one division has the three best teams, so one WC has to cede home advantage to a team with a worse record over the same schedule. Even worse than real baseball rules. But I'm WC 2 and have to play my division winner.
My other Perfect Level team "downgraded" from American Angels to Californian Angels, dumping the last remaining American-born players with no California connection. Majority of roster has Angel connection. Magic number 1 to clinch division, but 3rd only best record. My dream season was the week before I visited y'all both my Perfect Level teams won the WS. Amazing luck and timing, the only time either have done it and it was the same week/season. Wonder if anyone else has done a two-fer? My free-to-play Gold-Level team has a 7-game win streak going and a magic number of 1 to make the playoffs, which was only a 50-50 shot 7 games ago. Likely will be first WC after sweeping the other WC team with 2 of the 3 wins coming via 9th inning walk off homers. So life is good, enjoying reading your league threads and looking forward to crossing paths with many of you in 20. |

Thankfully, I spent the last few hours eating a great meal cooked by my lovely wife and watching a fabulous movie (Bohemian Rhapsody), so I did not have to suffer through being unable to clinch without puking up most of my lead. It's always good to go into the playoffs on a many-game losing streak - assuming that I actually make the playoffs.
It was a great meal and a great movie. Life is good. |

I watched Bohemian Rhapsody last weekend with my wife and it was very good. I've been a Queen and Freddie Mercury fan since 8th grade in the 70's so it was fun. Rami was fantastic as Freddie. |

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that the Quebec Carnavals won't be coming back next week, relegation or not. My team is a joke to this league and I'm not even able to accumulate enough points to upgrade my 14 point roster. Thanks for taking me in for a couple of weeks, it was fun reading you and seeing great GMs in action.

Well good luck Sipimi. You certainly held your own against my team. Good luck in the future! |

Little known fact... Rami got his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts right here in Evansville.

Thanks for sharing! I have never heard of "Doggie" Miller before today and would never have known that he was the first player to appear in over 20 games at each non-position field. Or that he was arrested for bloodying an umpires face... Cool piece of baseball history! Need to set up that baseball man-cave with these treasures! |

Thanks Z. Always fun playing in a league with you. When in the same divisions, it always seems to come down to the last series. You still have a shot at the division title. Perugia will be tough and you've faired well against the Ballbusters...

Im surprised that the snowbirds and patriots have to play a game 163...i thought the snowbirds would just win the division if they tied with patriots ... as they dominated them heads up

Not a good season for my Blue Gryphs and not used to them missing playoff action but on the other hand was surprised at the Red team being competitive and a .500 season from my Golds. Both sort of exceeded expectations in a tough league.
... but it does leave me with no teams in Sunday action for the first time ever I think! Please tell me I’m not going to have to find something in common with the missus. Yuck. Congrats and good luck to our playoff teams!! |

Toughest week for us as well.
Base Thieves finally turned it around and held on to a narrow division lead against our league winners from last season. Next up....Angry Dragons who usually beat us when it is important. In the National league, the Silver Pirates finally fell apart. I am excited to see how they perform in the Diamond league. Last time they were relegated, they came back a week later. Base Stealers were miserable to watch all season long. I watched a few games and the team left batters stranded on base all season long. I am excited for an entire year of Rickey Henderson. He won’t get me any batter awards but he should be good for lots of stolen bases and some fun games.
