The 2014 NCAA Roster Mod

So I'll be putting the 2014 NCAA real roster mod in this thread once I get it to a point where it's worth releasing. This is the successor to the NCAA Community Roster Mod.

There's nothing to see or download here yet, just want a place where I can keep track of my progress and let everyone else see how things are currently progressing.

There are some cool things planned for this year. First, I'll be including full stats for Juco and lower division players as well as full stats for D1. I'll also be including the great college uniforms that folks like EriqJaffe, silvam14 and Robo have created for college teams.

As many of you already know I also work on the official rosters for OOTP and thus many of the players you'll see here will make it into the MLB quickstart as draft eligible prospects as well.

Hopefully, things will go quicker than last year since so much more has already been done, thanks in large part to all the help I've gotten from Bigrod. (Realized I completely forgot to mention you at first Rod, sorry about that)

Still, there's no set time frame for when this might be ready, we'll have to see how it goes.

On this matter I have a suggestion:

When you guys do the NCAA Mod this year, could you guys make the NCAA as an association between different College Leagues instead of a single league with 20+ divisions? That way it'll create a much more realistic schedule. (At least the teams in the same league will actually plays each other this way)

Its slightly difficult to lay out the conference schedules with non-conference games included.

I do have D1 set up with each conference being a different league. Only thing is I don't seem able to affiliate the leagues as when I go to league affiliations I get a message that 'there are not enough unaffiliated/unassociated leagues available to create an association'.

So I don't know if the issue is that it's not possible to associate feeder leagues or if something else is the matter. I'm going to have to ask around about that. Do you know if it's possible to affiliate feeders Rod?

Now that you put your question a little differently than in the pm.... Don't believe you can affiliate feeders as there already affiliated to the lg. they feed. Can't double dip to my knowledge.
BTW: Here's your schedule data we talked about.

You are right that OOTP does not allowed affaliate feeders yet.

However...I don't use this as a feeder, I played a NCAA-only universe, and OOTP does allow affaliation between different independt college level leagues, and I feel the NCAA as an association between different Conferences makes more sense than it as a single league.

By the way, is there a place that lists which team is in which conference for the 2014 season?

Well the thing is I kind of make this for use as a feeder. Adding the real players only really makes sense if you use the leagues as feeders.

I've toyed with the idea of trying to make a world with all the colleges in each division (associated) as real teams with financials and everything (fictional players) but never actually gotten around to doing it.

I guess it's more of selfish reason of mine.

I actuallyy don't really need real player (or even real schedule), but I want the NCAA in the format of Association. In the past I set this up myself. However, now I'm a college student and is a little bit short on time so I'd like someone else do the work for me

There is another reason that I disliked the NCAA as one league format: If you don't have a schedule file in place, the game's schedule generator might generate a schedule that you played none of your division or conference opponent. If I have to choose between play no out of conference game and no conference game, I would much rather be the former

this is going to come off like a dick-move, but I will say it anyway...deal with it. As I stated above, non-conference games in an Association mode, the schedule spits out as a negative. If you want it to play out your way, split the format and individually assign the teams to its respective conferences and division. OOTP was not designed to mimic the NCAA game, and Markus has stated this in the past.

Trust me, I'm with you in wanting it to be Association and multiple conferences, but to mimic the actual NCAA logistics makes it too difficult to do so.

And its not trying to be mean or rude. The schedule will not accept OOC games if they aren't in the same league....unless it is Exhibition or Spring Training.

But, if it is possible, I will try it.

Hey c'mon man, no need for that

I agree with Tom and it's my mod after all

Thing is I just can't actually make it happen unless Markus will let us affiliate feeders which I'm not holding my breath on actually happening anytime soon

I know, I know. But scheduling games OOC on the game as part of the regular season schedule, the game rejects it.

and Tom, I apologize but I've tried it..it does not work

All this and more would be possible if we could convince Markus to use team IDS for scheduling purposes rather than their divisional alphabetical team #. Then any team in your game could play any other team no matter what. Then use type="" to designate the type of game.
