Good luck.
It would be nice to finish with the best record since we have been playing better at home so hopefully we'll get lucky there.

We're .779 at home and .662 on the road, which is where we'll be playing both your Oilers and the Pirates (3 vs your team and 4 vs the Pirates). I had intended to change my park factors since I've got them set to favor hitting (AVG and HRs maxed and D and T raised too) and I didn't think that was a good idea in perfect, but now I'm not so sure. It does seem that my pitching is better than my hitting so maybe I should just leave my park factors alone for next season and see what happens.

Good luck to you in September. Maybe we'll meet again later in the playoffs.

Bees are battling for a wild card spot.

Thieves are stronger this year, leading division at the moment by a few games.

Giants are also leading division at the moment by a few games.

Should be an interesting Saturday.

I am the first team to clinch a division in a very strange conference. Every team except mine is below .500 in two of the divisions. The third division has four teams well over .500 so three of them will make the playoffs. I am almost assured of facing a team with a losing record in the first round while the best team in the conference will have to play a team as good as mine.

I added a 99 Maddux to the 98 Sutton that I picked up mid-week, giving me a pretty strong rotation for a short series with 100 Hubbell as my ace. Adam Wainwright is having a career year at 18-7 with a 2.92 ERA but he looks to be the fourth starter right now.

Not bad upgrades Orcin.

I added a 100 Aaron as a full time RF. Matty Mathewson earlier in the week to replace Righetti in the starting rotation allowing him to take on the role of closer. I then added Ryne Sandburg at 2B moving Jackie Robinson to 3B to replace Buddy Bell.....we'll see how it works out but so far the
early returns are good. My main issue is I'm in a very tough league so playoffs are a long shot now but hopefully I can train up Jackie.

That Sandberg card is a good one. Aaron should really help your run production, particularly against lefties.

You don't see a ton of lefties in perfect league but yea, he's insane against lefties. I had to drop Clemente to get him in the lineup but it's Hammerin Henry!

The Frogs are going down to the wire with the Durham Devil Dogs in the division race. This being a division without any losing teams 150 games into the season. The Frogs are maintaining a very thin 0.5 game lead after edging ahead last night. Both La Crosse and Durham have separated from the rest of the division by 7 games, so this is really about avoiding the wild card. These teams will face off in a critical 4-game set in about 3 hours.

I notice that lefties are not very popular in PL... why is that? Some of the best hitters are lefties... it doesn't make much sense unless I'm missing some meta thing.

Not sure, maybe because some hitters just kill them as righty batters are more common?

Might be strange meta thing.

Well, the Raccoons didn't do so well against the tough teams this time around. The Oilers took 2 of 3 (both losses were by 1 run) and then the Pirates swept all 4 games winning 4-3, 3-2, 5-3 and 2-1. So all of the losses were close so I guess that part is good. It certainly suggests we'll have a chance to beat those teams in the playoffs, but boy will it be tough. Our Pyt record Diff went from -1 to -5 so maybe that indicates we had a bit of bad luck there.

In 19, it was because there were very few historical lefties with decent movement (a meta thing). In 20, I suspect it is caution based on the 19 meta thing.

That was a pretty fun division race. All the more so with my team clinching in game 160. Manged to pull a 4-game sweep on the team I was trailing by 2 games. After both teams then lost a couple games, the Frogs pulled out a 1-run win in 10 innings to ice the division.

This will mark the Fighting Frogs' 3rd trip to the diamond level playoffs and yet another chance to make Perfect level.

Please give us an update as you progress. I owned the Sutton card but had no luck in the 1/2 year that I owned him. Hubbell has punished me way too many times to count.

Wainwright is on my kids team and he really likes him. He came through in all important games for him and is currently his go to card for important matches (lower level league).

I am also curious how the 99 Maddux will do for you and look forward to a next season update.
My long term plan is to shed my team of all the Perfect cards and go with a competitive diamond team. Maybe it is just me but I tend to get bored quickly with “cruise control” 100 teams.

My Sutton (98), Clarkson (99) and Keefe (99) cards have done quite well in P411. All 3 are in the top 5 in WAR (and rWAR) and ERA+, for example. An all diamond perfect team sounds like a cool idea. I've got only 3 perfects and have still played very well against the top teams this season. And my 3 perfects were amongst the weakest performing members of the team. But who knows how we'd do if we were in a tougher perfect league.

97-65 for B'sin'Glou in G316. 3rd best record in the conference. Our strengths are our offense and bullpen, our big weakness the bottom 3 in our rotation. The .277 we hit is our highest mark so far in PT 2.0, and was hit with exactly the same hitters as we had last season. Can 4th time be the charm for the Double Agents?

Doha finished the season on a high note, winning the division and getting the best record in the Conference. The competition is very strong and anything can happen in the playoffs.

Great Lake ran away in the division but was unable to get the best record in the conference. This is a 4 division league therefore the playoffs starts immediately with the division series.

Perugia got the short stick in the end, finishing fourth in the division despite a very good record. No playoffs this year.

Neither of my teams made the playoffs (again), but hey - Big Walt won another triple crown (again)! This year: 23-5, 1.67 ERA, 278 K.

As usual, I will have all of Sunday to decide where I will blow 6,544 PP.

Edit: Nope, took me all of ten minutes to buy a pack of bah, spend 1,400 on a 1964 Rookie card of Rico Carty as new DH, and make a bid for a 1993 Frank Thomas that would be the new new DH.

End of season update on the Rose card comparison:

Perfect League only, 162 game average:

92 Rose (759 actual PA): 190 hits, 24 doubles, 3 triples, 20 HR, 87 walks, .797 OPS, 3.0 WAR as DH
81 Rose (706 actual PA): 200 hits, 40 doubles, 3 triples, 15 HR, 47 walks, .770 OPS, 2.0 WAR as DH

I am a little surprised at the variance in doubles because the 92 card has a better gap rating. Small samples though. Overall, I am pretty happy with the upgrade. I hope the 92 Rose has the same ability to provide key hits in the postseason.

Didn't get the Frank Thomas card. Might have been insta-bought, but I couldn't have scratched that much together anyway.
