Free agents/extensions - difficulty settings
I'm probably not the first person to say this but it's way too easy to get big ticket extensions and free agents. There should be more bidding wars and more guys who just refuse to sign (esp if you have a bad team, a manager they won't gel with, etc).
Perhaps high Financial Ambition would make them more willing to overlook those things and play anywhere for the $$$ (like a Kris Bryant to the Rockies sitch)
TL;DR would be nice if perhaps there was a difficulty setting for this a la trades.
On the flip side, trying to sign decent bench guys early on is impossible. All of them want to be in the starting lineup even if they've never been starters and insist on that as a contract prerequisite, especially backup catchers. So you either have to wait and hope no one signs them or sign them with the fake promise and then deal with them being POed at you all year for not starting them.
Contract demands should also be weighted more heavily to performance and past playing time vs ratings. Way too many guys demand major league contracts who would never be offered one IRL because they're a 23 year old reliever with allegedly decent potential.
