Also included for this year is a strike-shortened version of the schedules. Due to a players' strike which commenced on Aug. 12, play was halted. The strike dragged on without resolution, and on Sept. 14 the rest of the regular season and all of the post-season were cancelled. Also included for this year is the official strike-shortened version of the schedules. Due to the players' strike which had commenced late in the previous season, the start of the 1995 season was delayed. The strike was finally settled on Apr.2, 1995, and in order to give sufficient time for a spring training period the schedule was officially revised. The season was reduced to 144 games per team and the opening of the season pushed back to Tues. Apr. 25. A total of 312 games on the original 1995 schedule were affected by the strike and schedule revisions, with 252 of these games being cancelled while the remaining 60 were rescheduled for play during the shortened season.

Also included for this year is alternate version of the schedules reflecting the changes made as a result of 9/11. Due to the tragic events of that day, MLB postponed all games for the next six days. Play resumed on Mon. Sept. 17th. To allow time for the games that had been postponed to be played, the season was extended by one week, with the new closing date of the season being Sun. Oct. 7th. Games that were postponed from Sept. 11-16 were rescheduled for play from Oct. 1-7.

Also included for this year is the originally planned version of the schedules. The season was to have had Seattle playing Oakland for two games in Tokyo on Mar. 25-26 to open the AL season. Due to security concerns arising out of the Iraq War, the games in Tokyo were cancelled and the two contests rescheduled for play in Oakland later in the season. The AL's season opener now fell on Sun. Mar. 30th. Because this change took place before the season began, it is considered to be part of the official schedule.

I decided to also include the originally planned version of the schedules with the Tokyo games in case some folks wanted to play out their seasons with this earlier opening date.

The OOTP boards don't allow attachments large enough to include the entire set in only one or two files, so hopefully combined zips can be uploaded to another site so instead of downloading the seasons one at a time you have the option to get all the seasons at once.

Having said that (and meaning it), I want to remind you about a problem with team numbers in the early half of the 20th century, which causes Boston (N) and Brooklyn to be transposed in the schedules. BSN should be team #9, and BRO should be team #10.

It's easy enough to modify the Excel files and set things right, but people should know that this step is necessary.

Noted. And not forgotten incidentally, I'm going to replace the necessary seasons - I'm just not sure when yet, but hopefully not too long.

If someone wants to host combined zips they'll also have corrected files for the appropriate seasons.

Yes.

It doesn't matter whether the schedule file has a .txt or .csv ending, OOTP will import it just the same. I got tired of renaming the files, and since the file name extension makes no difference in OOTP's importing of the schedule, I stopped renaming the files.
