Wait, so I've likely simmed a season or two without even noticing?

This isn't good. If that's the case than TONS of young stars became UFA's and signed with new teams.

I better go check this out. I would have assumed I'd have noticed.

Hopefully there's a quick fix..

If that's the case.. I might just make a league for now with those rules.

I could be wrong(hopefully I am) but I don't see a fix coming for at least another week or two maybe more.

I believe Markus is on holidays.

I'll take a break from my file until this is fixed, as this is a pretty serious issue. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

5. CHANGE FREE AGENT TYPE TO "FA COMP (2012 CBA RULES)"

done!

It takes about 2-3 minutes in my 30 team league, and it works.
Just wanted to thank you for this suggestion. I did it last night and assigned compensation status to about 12-15 free agents and it only took around 10 minutes total. It's not a complete fix since the players don't have a chance to accept a QO, but I only assigned to guys who would have likely declined anyway. That wi'll work as a quick fix for me.

Also, this issue needs to be at the top of the priority list to get fixed.

As a temporary work-around to this, you can go into commissioner mode and "Act As" each AI team in your league and make Qualifying offers to those you feel should be getting them.

I tried this and the compensation appears to be sticking when the FA's file.

If you add a separate human manager that you use for the commissioner, it will not interfere with anything for your own team, i.e accomplishments or lineups or minor league assignments. If you "Act As" another team with your regular persona, it will be like you quit your job with your team and the AI will take over and mess things up.....
I tried this and it works pretty well, only took about 10 minutes in a 30 team MLB. I like this approach better than assigning comp to free agents after they filed because there will be some instances where the player will accept arbitration, which is not possible if you wait until free agency. I have seen this happen already in the one league I tried this on.

Yeah, that approach is definitely better if you want to be more liberal with the QOs. I did it after the filing date and just attached compensation to guys I thought would surely turn down the QO and I think it worked alright too.

Can anyone not playing with the latest patch confirm that QOs are offered with the post-2012 CBS rules?

That's cool. As long as it's not like a month or longer. I guess I could dig around and find the patch before the latest and download that.

If this does not get fixed in time, my plan is to down-patch to the previous version when my current season gets to the arbitration period and then up-patch again when the arbitration period ends. Will this work? Or, will my league get all screwed up?

The compensation was not be handled properly prior to the most recent patch, which fixed all the previous issues but neglected to get the AI to make qualifying offers. Manually applying Compensation to free agents is a better option than applying old patches.

I don't think the wait for this fix will be measured in weeks or months.....

I took his comment to read as this fix might never happen.
