Dog Days Baseball

Dog Days Baseball has been around since 2003, and we have now simmed 45 years of baseball. We are a fictional league in a fictional country.

24 teams plus 4 minor league levels

We keep it moving!
* 4 sims a week during the season, each sim covering a week of the season
* sims every day in the off season
* very few missed sims in all the years we have been running
* season takes about 7 weeks of real life time
* off season takes about 12 days

Some outside-the-game-engine features:
* each city has a built in advantages
* annual organizational goals
* sandwich pick compensation for lost free agents
Commish does not run a team, instead handling these aspects of the league

=> Originally a “stats only” league, with no current player ratings; now we use only vague (1-5) ratings, so you still must rely mostly on stats to evaluate players
=> scouts on… Potential ratings are a somewhat more informative 1-10

We are fine with 1st time online players… It is competitive, but not cutthroat, and lots of us are glad to give help if you are just starting out

* rule 5 enabled
* June 1 ammy draft… Rounds 1-3 on forum; remainder in-game
* Hidden players (foreign prospects) enabled
* Morale system enabled
* Interleague play and DH off
* Suspensions off

Thought we had a GM for Greenwood, but I guess not. Still looking!

At the ammy draft, and we need a new GM for Kendall.

Shoot me an email if you want to adopt them.

How far into the season are you? How many years have you played?

I have been in the DDB for 9 seasons and this is on of the best on-line leagues that I have been in. The Commish dedicated to the league and very rarely ever has to delay a sim. He is just the commish, he doesn't run a team, and is open to discussing ways to make the league even better. Just a great all-around league.

A new season begins, the ammy draft is underway... and Kendall has just lost its GM. Looking for a committed GM to take over the Griffins.

Time for spring training for yet another season, and we are looking for a new GM for two franchises -- Blackwood and Kendall.

Kendall finished second last season and have a good core of players. Blackwood finished last in their division, and holds the #3 pick overall in the upcoming ammy draft. Both teams are financially solvent -- Blackwood actually has the lowest payroll in the league.

This will be our final season using OOTP13 -- we'll move to 14 next off season.

Hopefully we can find a couple of new GMs who are really into OOTP competition!

Great league, great commish, solid core group of owners, many who have been there longer than me even (13 seasons)!

I am interested in this league. I've tried twice to hop onboard with leagues that were forming and both time we never made it past the inaugural draft. I don't have too much OOTP experience but I am familiar enough with the program that I am sure I can work out the finer details as seasons progress.
