C² PCL Database

ctorg and myself are in the midst of compiling the data to create a Pacific Coast League 'lahman style' db for use with OOTP.

You can follow the progress here as we move through the 1903-1957 seasons of the PCL.

UPDATE:

We have completed 1903-1919 and hope to have a test db for testing available soon.

We would like 2-3 people who would volunteer to test this initial database for us. If you're interested contact myself or ctorg. You could also post here.

Data gathering has commenced on 1920-1929 and 1930-1939.

As far as 1920-1929 goes.........1920, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 are completed.

ctorg has 1930-39.

UPDATE:

1903-1909 -- Complete
1910-1919 -- Complete
1920-1929 -- Complete
1930-1939 -- Complete
1940-1949 -- Complete

It is hoped that all data will be mined this week, so we are hoping to have a test db very soon for those willing to help.

Thanks to Spleen/tarmer for volunteering to help us on that part of the project.

Sure. That'll give us three testers plus ctorg and myself. We'll be in touch once I finish the 40s. I'm hoping by Thursday, all data mining will be finished. Its mined in a format very close to what we need it in in order to convert it to a lahman style db, so I don't anticipate much time after that.

All data is gathered. We hope to have something for testing very soon, so if Spleen, Tony (have it already), and the Doc would PM their email addresses to me, I'll be in touch with a download link very soon.

Instructions on what we're looking for will also be included.

Thanks to you three for helping us work the kinks out (if there are any). This has been a very smooth process thusfar and I want to thank ctorg for helping out on the data side of this. I think we're going to provide something that many will find interesting to use in whatever way they choose to use it.

I has questions that I have posed in a very long, boring and nearly pointless e-mail I sent you earlier today.

To all interested parties......the Lahman portion of the PCL database should take only a little time to complete BUT to add all the extra stuff OOTP12 requires to recreate history will take a small modicum of time. I did the easy one this morning so the PCL batting.csv is essentially done. The rest will take more time as they have a much larger number of funktions that need to funktion funktionally. Plus we've got to lay down the boogie.

I do believe that I answered in that boring email you speak of. I tried to do it equally as boring.

The question then becomes "Did you lay down that boogie til you die?"

Wow, this will be a phenomenal addition to OOTP! Is this database going to be real stats, neutralized, or will there be options for either one?

Real. Because the point is to have the PCL be on par with the Majors. Neutered to ML equivalents is possible though if more than nobody wanted/needed that.

Now who is going to do the International League?

If anyone is following the hillbilly construction of this......

The Lahman style Master and Batting and Pitching CSV files are complete.

Still to do..... Fielding (which I don't completely have yet)

AND The various OOTP additions to the Lahman files.
