14 teams, 3 divisions, unbalanced

I'm looking for a 14 team schedule. One subleague, with 3 divisions of 5, 4, and 5 teams. This is for an online league, which means there are a few weird rules to ensure fairness.

5-TEAM DIVISIONS

19 games vs. each of 4 division opponents (9-10H/9-10A, 76 total)
10-11 games vs. each team in 4-team division (4-6H/4-6A, 40-41 total)
9-10 games vs. each team in other 5-team division (3-6H/3-6A, 45-46 total)

4-TEAM DIVISION

20 games vs. each of 3 division opponents (10H/10A, 60 total)
10-11 games vs. each of 10 non division opponents (4-6H/4-6A, 102 total)

As you may notice, there are a few "leftover" games on the schedule, as seen by the 10-11s and 9-10s. To allow teams to be rotated for strength of schedule, the extra games (the 11s involving 4-team divisions and the 10 between the two 5-team divisions) are:

1 vs. 6, 6 vs. 10
2 vs. 7, 7 vs. 11
3 vs. 8, 8 vs. 12
4 vs. 9, 9 vs. 13
5 vs. 14

This schedule starts on the first Friday on or after March 29 and lasts 185 days, ending on a Sunday. The schedule is two days longer than a normal MLB schedule.

To allow as many Opening Day matchups as possible to be divisional, the only nondivisional game on Opening Day will be 5 @ 14. The game is hosted by 14 because they are in the West Division - this allows the timeslots to work better for Opening Day.

There is a three-day midseason break from days 95-97 (starting the first Monday on or after July 1) to allow a two-subleague setup to play an All-Star Game. The online league this is for does indeed use a two-subleague setup, but because there is no 14 team/3 division schedule in joefromchicago's list, this is being submitted as a one-subleague schedule. I will manually duplicate the schedule for the second subleague.

The last thing to note is that because the 11-game matchups are 4-6H/4-6A, there may need to be some maneuvering with 2 game series to avoid a 4/7 split in home games. Similarly, teams 5 and 14 play 10 games instead of 9, so they have a 5/5 split with each team hosting one 2 game and one 3 game series, to avoid having to flip the 5-team divisions around every year.

Game times are split between 14:05, 16:35, and 19:05, and each day must have at least one game in each time slot. (This is to ensure at least one game is in progress at every point during a live sim.) The exception to this rule is Opening Day, where all games are 14:05.

Thank you in advance.

Reading through it looks like a 5/4/5 set up.

I've gone through at created an excel of all the match ups. Its gonna take me a bit to plan out the schedule from here.

This has been a tough schedule. I have the schedule completely laid out in excel now, just need to go through and look at home/away stands and days off.

After that, I'm going to assign game times by hand to get the mix you want.

Then I have to transfer it to the .lsdl format.

All in all, should be a few more days, but I'm pretty happy with the results so far.

OOTP16 isn't coming out for a few weeks, you have a lot of time to do this.

Here is the completed schedule. Every team plays 162 games.

Each team plays the number of games outlined in the original post vs the correct opponents. There is a three game block from day 95 to 97 for an all star game.

It is currently set up as a one league schedule so no all star game is scheduled.

There are a few issues I can't get any further with.

The schedule last 186 days
SOme teams have back to back days of in the middle of the season. I have been trying to move series around to solve these issues but I haven't been able to.

Let me know if you have any questions.

You had the quotation marks in the wrong place. Fixed version coming shortly.

I wanted to get done as soon as possible so you had time to tinker with it so it's exactly what you need.

Hope it works for you.

I see a few places I can fix the offday problems, which is delaying my re-upload a bit.

After thinking about it for the last week, I would have approached the schedule differently.

I think I would schedule the 2 games series on TUES/WED, and then all the teams that play a 2 game series I would have them play a 4 game series from Thurs-Sun.

The teams that weren't playing 2 games series on T/W I would have play two 3 game series that week.

So it would be 8 teams playing 2/4 and 6 teams playing 3/3. If I scheduled those first I think it would have been cleaner.

I know thats not much help now to you
