"Dialing Back" MLB 2013

When you create a new Major League game, the season starts on March 30, with the first game just a day away. Is there a way to dial the season back to January 1, to allow for spring training, etc.?

Give this a shot...fire up a new MLB quickstart game and save it as a template, create a new fictional game, and then create a dummy league that begins in 2013, start the fictional league, and delete it in addition to all players and personnel, load the MLB quickstart template and hope the game doesn't crash. If all goes well, you should have a start date of January 1, 2013, but the rosters will reflect March 30, 2013. Really the only way I know it's possible, I do this with World of Baseball to "trick" the game into starting earlier if I use the MLB and minors rosters as a framework.

I tried this and it worked ok.

I got it to work, too, but now I have a new problem: duplicate countries with slightly different spellings (e.g. "Bosnia and Herzegovina" and "Bosnia & Herzegovina"). My xml file only lists one spelling per nations, but the game itself has a handful of these duplicates. Can nations be deleted? How?

Nations can only be deleted by editing them out of the World.XML

If they aren't showing up in the XML, but are in game, I'd say there's a good chance your league file is corrupted. Sorry to say that.
