New to the game
I've been playing around and seeing what their is to OOTP since yesterday. I really want to get into an online league but I was wondering if I should wait until I get a better grasp of the game before I do. Any thoughts on this?

I wouldn't necessarily wait to join an online league.
I would suggest playing the game a bit though. Create a fictional league (or any type) and take over a team. Get comfortable with a GM/managers responsibilities in game. Setting line-ups, waivers, fa signings, transactions such as promoting/demoting players, etc etc. I'm going to assume you have a decent/good knowledge of the game of baseball itself. If so, you won't have too much trouble getting into OOTP. It does have a lot of depth and features, but playing with them is the best way to learn them. There are plenty of menus and options, so I would explore all of these too. Also I would recommend looking in the online league forum for openings, see if you can find a league that is close to what you like - real, fictional, historical, etc. If you find one, pm/email the Commish and tell him your new and learning the game but want to get into online play. The vast majority of Commish's will be more than glad to help you get started and explain things to you. Good luck and enjoy your OOTP experience. |

I purchased the game to play in an online league I found. The league site took me here. I have never made it past 1 season in a solo game. You may be behind the curve a little but you can also use the experienced members in the league to learn.
