Inaugural draft
I played a few seasons of OOTP several years ago. More recently I got into iOOTP and loved it, except for the fact that after playing for a while on the tiny iPod screen my eyes began to blur.
In iOOTP I had drafted a team from the current MLB rosters and built it into a powerhouse. I'd like to try the same thing in OOTP13, where I can look at things on a big screen. It seems like that would be a no-brainer, but whenever I've tried I either get the actual roster of the team I've chosen to manage or am only able to do the startup draft with fictional players. Can someone walk me through this? Muchos thanks. |

So there is a function on the league setup screen that allows you to release players and hold inaugural draft. If you start a new MLB game and click that, it should do what you want.
One caveat: I read in the manual that you can only do this during preseason. In the 2012 MLB roster set game, you might already be past preseason - I forget. I guess worst case scenario you could sim ahead to 2013 preseason, then redraft. Not ideal. Could be that the info is old or not applicable anymore either. Another way to kinda do this is to start a 2011 historical and check the Hold Inaugural Draft button. Again, not exactly the same thing. |
