MLB Expansion
If MLB decides to expand to 32 teams, I think Montreal and Portland are the most logical choices. Here is how I would realign the MLB divisions:
AL East: Orioles, Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays AL North: White Sox, Indians, Tigers, Twins AL South: Rockies, Astros, Royals, Rangers AL West: Angels, Athletics, Portland, Mariners NL East: Expos, Mets, Phillies, Pirates NL North: Cubs, Reds, Brewers, Cardinals NL South: Braves, Marlins, Rays, Nationals NL West: Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Padres, Giants I think this is a good set-up. You would have 4 four-team divisions and could have potentially 4 wild-card winners. I also would shorten the season to 156 games which would allow for more playoff games. And, I would have a 7-game League Division Series versus the current 5. Thoughts? |

As always I'm surprised by how many baseball fans don't like interleague play.
Interleague allows more opportunity for fans to go see more players from around the league. It's pretty cool when, say, Mike Trout and the Angels are in town and you have a chance to go see them. Not to mention, fewer games and fewer play off games My, unpopular, ideal would be a merging of all international leagues to have year round baseball and a true World Champion. With fans having a chance to see the best players from around the world. Last edited by CBeisbol; 03-15-2020 at 10:39 AM. |

I don't think MLB wants 2 Florida teams in the same league. And I think there is too much offense in Colorado as it is w/o giving both teams a DH.

I am thinking San Antonio would be a better fit than Portland. Colorado does not feel like a good fit where you have them.

Not as bad fit as it was when the Atlanta Braves were in the NL west.

That confused me when I was a kid. IIRC, the falcons were also in the West in the NFL at the time.
