PEBA - One of OOTP's most immersive leagues has openings!

ONE OF OOTP'S MORE IMMERSIVE LEAGUES WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU!

PEBA is a dynasty report and online league, all rolled into one!
Check out our website for latest league-wide news!

PEBA is a long-running OOTP league which is now in it's 12th year and, soon, it's 23rd season.
We have openings and we are looking for GM's that enjoy the immersion of this great game !

Are you that GM? Then PEBA is for you!

The 2028 season has recently concluded, and the Fargo Dinosaurs bring a Rodriguez Cup to the Dakotas for the very first time!

OOTP Version:OOTP 20
Format: Fictional
First Season: 2007
Current Season: 2029-30 Offseason
Days Per Sim: 7
Sims Per Week: 2 or 3, depending on time of year

Our goal is to create an immersive and highly entertaining fictional baseball environment. We welcome any GM who enjoys contributing to that goal regardless of experience level. If you're an enthusiastic OOTP newbie or a seasoned vet looking for a new group of friendly people to compete against, the PEBA may be the perfect landing spot for you!

League Origin Story

The year was 2007, and America was starved for its National Pastime. The PED Scandal and greed on all fronts broke the nations trust in Major League Baseball, and an Institution of well over 100 years folded up shop and closed their doors. In came John Rodriguez, Sr and a group of wise business men who brought baseball back to the forefront – eschewing the big city lights and bringing the game back to the people.

It's hard to believe that was over 20 years ago.

Since it opened its doors, PEBA has had its share of controversy and tragedy; dynasty and Cinderella. It’s the home to ‘Fireworks’, ‘Tugboat’, ‘El Chupacabra’ and ‘Moon Dog’. It is a shared dynasty of 28 like-minded souls who have crafted a universe – a PEBAverse, like none other – and now you can become part of that legend.

What We're Like

League Structure

- 28 teams ... divided between the Imperial League and Sovereign League (each with 14 teams) with no interleague play.
- Each major league team has 4 minor league affiliates (Triple-A, Double-A, Full Season-A, Short Season-A)
- 4 feeder leagues: 2 college (International and US), and 2 high school (again, International and US)
- 4 independent AI leagues.

Playoff Structure

- 10 teams make the playoffs (3 division winners and 2 wild cards in each league)
- Division Winners in each league advance directly to the Division Series.
- Wild Card Series is best of 5.... then Divisional, League, and Rodriguez Cup each best of 7.

The PEBA is a unique participation-based league – we pride ourselves with immersion that not only covers the game, but takes us out of the dugout and, at times, into the sublime. 2 or 3 sims a week means we move fast enough to enjoy ourselves, but give you enough breathing space to explore the depths of your team. Nowhere else do you find a GM running his club from a mental hospital, a team broadcaster heading to a foreign land to rekindle his game – only to be hunted for drug smuggling, a team hiring a GM and world-travelling manager, both trying to revive 'dead ball' baseball in modern times, and a pair of buddies heading out on the road to visit every ball park – and ending up becoming a real life published book!

The PEBA even has it's own podcast!

The first 4 episodes featured Ken (Florida GM) and Reg (New Orleans GM),
You can find them here :
Episode 1 - 2023 Playoff Preview
Episode 2 - 2023 Championship Edition
Episode 3 - 2023 Awards Review
Episode 4 - 2024 Preview

Starting in the 2028 season, Ken and Reg partnered up with R.J. (Crystal Lake GM) to revive it!
Episode 5 - Early season/May 2028 review
Episode 6 - 2028 Draft/Mid season review
Episode 7 - 2028 Late season - Trades, IFAs, and Geezers Oh My!
Episode 8 - 2028 Playoff predictions!
Episode 9 - 2028 Playoff Review/Free Agency Preview!
Episode 10 - 2028-29 Winter Meetings Bring Spring Trades
Episode 11 - The Weirdness that is 2029
Episode 12 - 2029 Special Draft edition : PEBACast LIVE!!!
Episode 13 - July edition : "Steve Hott 2029!"

What are "Contribution Points"?

We use a Contribution Points reward system. These are points accumulated annually based on a GM's activity, such as, for example, writing about one's team (or the league in general), or being involved in the forum discussions.

These Contribution Points can then be used to make teams your own – be it through ballpark adjustments, good old fashioned cash, sending players to winter ball to ‘hone their skills’, or simply giving your favorite player a nickname – Just ask Michel ‘Train A-rollin’ Provost about that!

Our goal is to produce an environment that reflects realism. We play with Coaching and Scouting ON. Make personnel decisions that matter and prepare for the "fog of war" when judging prospects! It will be your skill and keen eye for talent that will separate you from the pack. Every GM has to rely on his scout’s opinion and his own gut feeling – everyone has their own opinion about a player – no cookie-cutter ratings here! Do you like to trade? Our bustling trade environment shows that if you can't swing a trade here, you can't swing a trade anywhere!

As part of our participation concept, we conduct our winter meetings and amateur draft live in our unique chat room. Shoot the breeze with your fellow GMs or lay the groundwork for that blockbuster deal. We have been fortunate to attract a quality group of friendly owners – a stable core group that has been together long enough to create an extremely rewarding environment, and now you can find out why for yourself!

We're always interested in getting to know more like-minded individuals with an interest in joining in our fun and would love to hear from you.

If you enjoy the immersive and story-driven style of game that fictional league's benefit from, then this is the league for you. There's so much backstory to the league while still being very welcoming to new GM's.

I may not be an original, but I'm awfully close - having been a member of the PEBA for 9 human years. This league is full of a number of long-standing, dedicated GM's who are as happy to help a newbie as they are to field a competitive team in a competitive League.

There are some very interesting options open in the PEBA - storied teams like Bakersfield - long with a deep, never ending farm system, or Florida - a six-time Rodriguez Cup participant and 3-time winner. Need a challenge and a team to put your stamp on it - then try out London or San Antonio (a team with it's own storied past). Ready to jump into the League and battle for a title right off? Then Okinawa might be your bet - though you better keep an eye on those pesky Evil Evas.

If you're interested in a league with a rich history and that strives to create an immersive environment, then fill-out an inquiry form! We'd love to hear from you!!

And just like that, Hartford is taken, too.

Bumped - momentum is building in PEBA as we migrate to 19. The offseason is rolling!

I haven't been in this league for years due to (positive!) life events, but I'll put it this way - I cried after I resigned. You won't find a more involved, more immersive, more addictive online league anywhere. And if the guys still trade like they used to, you won't be lacking for options!

PEBA Pleasures

I've managed the losingest team in the PEBAverse for the past decade and nothing compares to the pleasures of this league, especially the great stories that have come out of the league's fascinating history.

Exciting times in the PEBAverse, as Spring Training has arrived - and with Spring come the questions: Will Shin Seiki become the third team to repeat? How close will Rob Raines come to 3,000 Hits? Will Aurora's 'THC v2.0' catcher/DH situation work out? Which of our newly minted GMs will shock the world and lead their teams to immediate glory?

Only the ever flowing fabric of the 162 game season will tell - but it's not too late to get involved. Last years top team, via record, Okinawa, is still available. Arlington has been a League stalwart and contender from nearly the birth of the PEBA, and a little nudge may be all it takes to return to the PEC. Then there's Kalamazoo - ol' K-zoo, never a bride, always a bridesmaid - but never an easy out, as I know all to well in Aurora.

There's never a better time than the present to get involved in the crazy PEBAverse!!

With the first week of Spring Training 2028 upon us, Arlington is now filled with a GM.

Only Okinawa and Kalamazoo remain. Now is a perfect time to join up right before the start of the 2028 season.

Hi guys! I would like to play in an online league. there's only one problem, I live in Italy. I'm worried about the time difference, at what time of the day do you usually play?

Hey Marco-

We welcome all - we just took on a GM in Scotland, and have had guys in Manchester, Poland and Asia - with two of those guys winning titles! Our Sims are usually run between 5-8pm PT (on the US West Coast) - but with the nature of online Leagues, as long as you keep up, you have plenty of time to set your team up sim to sim!

Submit an application and I'm certain we can make this happen for you!!

New member’s perspective

As someone who just recently joined PEBA, I’ve been struck by how welcoming and supportive this community has been. Yes, it’s a competitive league, but it’s also made up of members who want to help you have a good experience.

The sense of immersion is strong, and the stories that members create for their franchises, their players, and their coaching staffs are terrific and really help bring the league alive.

If you’re looking for an experience that makes you feel like you’re part of a living, breathing league, this is a great opportunity.

Plus, it’s a hell of a lot of fun!

Four spring games separate us from exhibitions and the Real Deal of Opening Day!! It's been a busy offseason in the PEBA and we've filled another slot, as Kalamazoo has it's man! Hartford and Okinawa - two of the top teams from 2027 (our previous season) are still available. Taking over a winning club may not seem as much a challenge, but I can say from experience - Staying on top can be a big challenge as well!! Winning means more salary... more salary means more decisions... more decisions means more... Well... you'll just have to join and experience!!

Hop on The PEBA Train now - Opening Day is Monday!!!

Thumbs up Long time Evas GM

I've been involved with PEBA for 9 or so real years at this point.

It is an amazing, dynamic, and constantly improving league. The deep history, competitive GM's, and unique (in a good way) league rules provide an fantastic experience.

Seems like we are down to only one opening - Okinawa, who edged me out for the division crown last season. That's a talented squad and would be a very fun team to run.

I could not possibly recommend PEBA more.
