Nothing much has changed since last month. Same two leaders and the same sizable leads in each league. And two teams have been very bad this season, will probably lose over
100 games, the Boston Red Sox and the St Louis Cardinals are those teams.

The New York Giants fell hard and out of the picture as the Boston Braves surged to the top of the American League. Washington will take on the Braves as a rematch of the 1919
World Series, the Braves bested the Senators 5-4. Boston is looking for their 6th Championships in seven tries, while Washington is looking for their 9th in 14 tries.

In the National League, the Pittsburgh Pirates went south with their 10 game losing streak to fall all the way to 7th place. Boston and New York are hitting back and forth.
Over in the American League, Cleveland and Philadelphia are back and forth with Washington waiting just outside the wings.

August 1st 1924 Update
Looks like some nice races are heating up in both the American and National League. In the American, Cleveland continues to lead with Philadelphia out a mere 3.5 games.
Washington is sitting 6 back. In the National League, the Cardinals hold a very slim 1 game lead over the Boston Braves. Senators' ace Dazzy Vance (20-6, 2.54 era, 141
strike outs) is looking ahead, he has a very good chance to pick up the Pitching Triple Crown, the last pitcher do achieve that feat was teammate Walter Johnson in 1921.

The American League race is still hot as the Athletics have closed within 2 games of Cleveland. Washington is still hanging in the picture at 6.5 GB. Over in the National League,
the Boston Braves surged to the top and opened a 4 game lead over the Cardinals. There is also another race going on, the .400 Batting Average, Senators Rogers Hornsby is
sitting at .403 with 25 games remaining.
