9-16 in April. Not off to a good start. We lost the 1st 8 games. We did have a 5 game winning streak, which helped. Our offense is ok, with a few exceptions. Our pitching is horrific. Atkinson & Schultz are good, everyone else is bad. I did ok in some ways.Offensively, there is a lot to like about this team. Thomas is doing good but looks like he is headed to the DL. Small & Haynes both look good. Miller is doing good as is Lance Johnson.
Brett Butler will come off of teh DL and go on a rehab stint, when he is ready to go Baines will be demoted.

In May our 1st 4 series are against winning teams. We play our Windy City Cup at the end of the month. It is a series i am looking forward to.

Made a few trades and a minor league signing to strengthen our team.I liked Coker but his 9.53 ERA had me concerned and our pen is atrocious. Decaren is a bit overpaid but after 1 start he is back as the setup man for Schultz. Bill Potts is a minor league C who has a few ML AB's. He along with teh Kirkpatrick signing is helpgul if i trade Zeile &/or Harris, who are both FA after this year. I want to pursue the Brewers C Mu-adh bin Kutaiba who is from suburban Crest Hill.

Although he would be a DH since he is a terrible defensive C.
Baines has finally come around and is hitting really well so that made Butler expendable. Minarcin, probably would be better in the pen but he will be part of the rotation youth movement along with myself, Abate, Biernat & a number of minor leaguers, who are not ready this season. Hoyner might see some action this year, especially if i can move Farmer. I plan on trading Axl Rose sometime in July along with either Zeile or Harris. Would like to trade DH Stephen Farris soon if i can find a prospect but so far no takers.
We have been playing better as of late and we have a decent chance of being in playoff contention in the next month or 2. I'll probably move to the pen or the field ( i can catch, play 1B & RF) soon if i continue to stink up the joint. i had 3 good starts but have sucked in my last 2.
