Today is Opening Day.

The Indians will begin the season with a two-game series in Chicago against the White Sox.

The Indians signed free agent CF Lee Walls to a minor league contract.

In the top of the second, the Indians loaded the bases with two out. Garcia, the pitcher, doubled to score a pair and put the Indians in the lead.

After three: Cleveland 2 Chicago 0.

In the top of the fifth, Glynn led off with a 359 foot shot.

In the bottom of the fifth, Fain put the White Sox on the board with a two-out two-run double. The White Sox went on to load the bases with two out. But Garcia struck out Lollar to end the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth, Fox scored from second when Hegan committed a throwing error fielding a Piece sacrifice bunt. The White Sox went on to load the bases again with two out. But this time Rivera flew to right to end the inning.

After six: Cleveland 3 Chicago 3.

In the top of the eighth, the Indians loaded the bases with one out. Doby swung and missed at a full count pitch for the second out. Philley then grounded to short to retire the side and the Indians had failed to break the tie.

In the top of the ninth, Fritz Dorish took the mound for the White Sox.

In the bottom of the ninth, Don Mossi took the mound for the Indians and set the White Sox down in order to send the game into extra innings.

After nine: Cleveland 3 Chicago 3.

In the top of the tenth, with a runner on first and one out, Don R Johnson took the mound for the White Sox and kept the runner from even getting into scoring position.

In the bottom of the eleventh, Ray Narleski took the mound for the Indians. The White Sox got the winning run on first with one out but Willard Marshall grounded into the inning-ending 4-6-3.

In the top of the twelfth, Sandy Consuegra took the mound for the White Sox.

In the bottom of the twelfth, the White Sox loaded the bases with one out. Lollar then hit a fly ball deep enough to right to score Michaels to end the game.

The Indians lost despite getting 10 hits in the game.

Final score: Chicago 4 Cleveland 3 12 innings.

Glynn then drew a five-pitch walk to force in the tying run. Houtteman the pitcher grounded to third to end the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth, Strickland put the Indians in the lead with an RBI double.

After six: Cleveland 2 Chicago 1.

In the bottom of the seventh, with a runner on first and two out, Don R Johnson took the mound for the White Sox. Philley added to the Indians lead with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the eighth, rain began to fall.

In the top of the ninth, play was stopped for a 20 minute rain delay. With runners at first and second and two out, Don Mossi took the mound for the Indians and walked Fain on four pitches to load the bases. But Rivera flew to center to end the game.

Rivera brought Wilson home with a sacrifice fly to put the White Sox in the lead. Lollar added a two-out RBI single. Fox followed suit. With runners at first and second and two out, Bob Chakales took the mound for the Indians and finally got the third out.

In the bottom of the ninth, Al Sima took the mound for the White Sox with a three-run lead and set the Indians down in order.

The Indians resumed their road trip with a three-game series in Boston against the Red Sox. The Indians are trying to end a four-game losing streak. The Red Sox have lost four of their last five.

In the top of the first, Doby put the Indians on the board with a 383 foot two-run homer.

In the top of the second, the Indians loaded the bases with two out. It was Doby again coming through, this time with a two-run single. Rosen followed with a two-run double.

After three: Cleveland 6 Boston 0.

In the bottom of the fourth, Williams led off with a 383 foot homer. Nixon added a two-out RBI single.

In the top of the sixth, the Indians loaded the bases with one out. Bolling then butchered an Avila grounder, allowing Hegan to score from third. The next batter was Doby and he hurt the Red Sox once again, this time with an RBI single. Lemon then scored from third when Rosen grounded to third. Smith followed with a two-out two-run single to make it a five-run inning. Philley followed with a single to score Smith. With a runner on first and two out, Leo Kiely took the mound for the Red Sox.

After six: Cleveland 12 Boston 2.

In the top of the seventh, Glynn picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly. The Indians went on to load the bases with two out before Smith grounded to third to retire the side.

The Indians out-hit the Red Sox 16-6 to get the win.

Final score: Cleveland 13 Boston 2.

In the top of the third, Doby increased the Indians lead with a 349 foot two-run homer. Rosen then sent a 3-1 pitch 336 feet to make it back-to-back home runs. Smith then made it back-to-back-to-back home runs with a 332 foot shot.

In the top of the seventh, Leo Kiely took the mound for the Red Sox.

In the bottom of the eighth, with runners at first and second and one out, Don Mossi took the mound for the Indians. The Red Sox loaded the bases with one out. Bolling grounded into the unassisted out at home for the second out. Pinch hitter Billy Consolo singled to bring home a run. Kell did the same to cut the Indians lead to three. Goodman then brought two home with a double to cut it to one. With runners at second and third and two out, Ray Narleski took the mound for the Indians. Smith then dropped a Jensen fly ball, allowing two runs to score to give the Red Sox the lead. The Red Sox would reload the bases with two out before Piersall flew to center to finally end the inning.

In the top of the ninth, Ellis Kinder took the mound for the Red Sox and set the Indians down in order to steal one for the Red Sox.

Today is the rubber game in the series in Boston between the Indians and the Red Sox. Yesterday, the Indians gave up six runs in the bottom of the eighth to blow a 6-1 lead and fall to 1-5 in one-run games.
