Worst Start Ever?
I am re-playing the Philadelphia Phillies starting in 1972 playing out each game using historical transactions. I'm currently in the middle of 1975 with a record of 50-42 in 2nd Place, 11.5 games behind Pittsburgh. I start Wayne Twitchell against the 1st Place Reds (61-32) and I decided to simulate the Top of the 1st inning for Twitchell. Twitchell goes on to give up 5 hits, 7 walks, and not 1, but 2 grand slams to Johnny Bench for a total of 11 runs in the 1st inning.
I don't think I have ever seen such a horrible start.

There was only one error but 8 unearned runs?

Well, Johnny Bench always did seem to murder the Phillies especially Steve Carlton.
