Extension
The Baltimore Orioles announced today that they have signed pitcher Bobby J. Smith to a seven-year extension worth $162.6 million.
Bobby will make $16.6 million in 2025, $19 million in 2026, and $25.4 million every year until 2030 (with a player option for 2031). Smith said in a press conference "I'm grateful that we were able to get this done and we can have a good relationship in the many seasons to come." |

2024 playoffs
NLDS vs Atlanta:
Game 1- 2-4 with a home run. Cardinals lost 14-6. Game 2- 0-4. Cardinals lost 4-3. Game 3- 3-3 with a double, 2 runs, an RBI, 2 walks, and 2 stolen bases. Cardinals won 7-6. Game 4- 2-5 with a home run, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs. Cardinals won 9-0. Game 5- 2-4 with 2 runs and a walk. The Cards won 4-3, completing the comeback. Dorado was named series MVP. NLCS vs. Arizona Game 1- 3-4 with 3 runs, a walk, and 3 stolen bases. Cardinals won 12-5. Game 2- 3-3 with 2 runs, 2 walks, and a stolen bases. Cardinals lost 9-8. Game 3- 1-3 with a solo homer. Cardinals won 2-0. Game 4- 3-4 with a homer, 3 runs, and a stolen base. Cardinals won 7-5. Game 5- 3-5 with 5 RBI, including a 2-run homer. He also stole a base. Cards won 5-1 and are going to the World Series. WS vs. Texas (a rematch of 2011) Game 1- 3-3 with a double, an RBI, two runs, and a walk, and three stolen bases, which proved to be the difference as St. Louis won 5-4. Game 2- 4-5 with a 2-run homer, 3 RBI, 2 runs, a strikeout, and 2 stolen bases. Cardinals won 11-5. Game 3- 3-4 with an RBI and 3 stolen bases. Cardinals lost 3-2. Game 4- 2-4 with a double and a stolen base. Cardinals won 4-3. Game 5- 1-4 with a 2-run homer. Cardinals lost 7-4. Game 6- 1-2 with a home run, another run, 2 walks, and a stolen base. Cardinals won 6-1 and gave Jesus Dorado his first WS title! He was named World Series MVP for his efforts. Dorado went 36-61 in the playoffs with a slash line of .590/.648/1.033. He had 8 home runs, 20 RBI, and 16 stolen bases, picking up 2.9 WAR in 16 games. |
