I wonder if "highest all time" is actually the 90th percentile sale just like we found out the average was actually the median.

Didn't mean to state that as fact. I just remember getting several on each of my teams in the starter packs... one team had 6, I think. Unfortunately I didn't record/screenshot my initial pulls, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.

thanks I would go back and look at what I got in my starter packs.

lots of activity in UH Iron on the AH.


i personally bought a bunch for 500 today--the ones that I think are rare(r)



so maybe the AAV will start to reflect reality on some of these cards soon.

I definitely got Bucky Dent twice from packs (I've got him in my collection and I've sold him on the auction house). Can you get duplicates of cards in your starter packs? It was definitely early on that I got the second card though.

the starter packs have different rules


you have to be able to assemble a complete team from them for example


so i am fairly certain you cant get a dupe in yr first 6 packs


but i don't for sure

Mary Barrett, an unsung IRON Hero playing in a diamond league made the all-star game...i don't think every team has to have an all star selection in PT either.

Just started a third team to see what I got in the starter packs...got 6 of these! Such an odd discrepancy in card odds with this set.

They said somewhere in the 19 forums that the leagues are set up the same way as MLB and every team gets a representative.

so thats why they are relatively rare.


they got sold early on when the majority of users had no idea they were so rare. and now everyone quicksells so even if they come up they dont' end up on AH

I don't even want to tell you how many of these I quick sold for 5 in the beginning... Probably had to pay 10x that much to get them back...

I'm getting better though...

Or they were kept by the people that pulled them, like the 30 that I kept from packs that I opened. There may be a lot of these sitting in collections.

I bought 100 packs and opened them during the first week. I haven't bought a pack since.

EDIT: I looked at my notes and I bought 106 iron cards during the first couple of weeks, including some of these 30 unsung heroes. I was buying anything under 50pp and forgot about that until you asked. I have been sitting on them until I know whether I want them, and I suspect a lot of other people have some too.

Just as an anecdotal point: I opened a Challenge Mode pack tonight and it had a 62 OVR Anthony Young Unsung Heroes in it - so UH are still in the packs.

Anthony Young is a bronze level card, no one's disputing that Bronze+ cards are in the packs but the Iron level ones.

Seems like that while the drop rate for these cards is frequent in the opening packs they're very rare in the normal packs.

yes I have pulled the Charlie Berry 60 like 5 times since it was relased a few weeks ago. unsung heroes at bronze and above are pulled at normal rates.

the comments about them being specifically placed in starter packs gave me a eureka moment last night.

if OOTP made the decision to put the IRON unsung heroes in starter packs and then changed the drop rate for regular packs they did that for a reason. we still dont know the reason because collections/tourneys are still a mystery.

I believe now more than ever these cards will have more value beyond what they would fetch based on performance in the regular PT game.
