There ARE deaths in OOTP!

Just saw this news blurb in my current offseason

Quote:
Texas Mourns Loss of Texas Rangers Owner Jerome Hoffman: Despondent and forlorn are the streets of Texas today. The Texas Rangers baseball team has lost its leader, owner Jerome Hoffman. He died suddenly yesterday, while on vacation. Club officials briefed the press today on the situation and released funeral plans. Services will be held day after tomorrow in Texas. As far as who will take over for Hoffman, the Texas Rangers spokesman indicated it would be dealt with in the near future, but he had no word on who the successor would be. Press speculation is that Hoffman's son, Jerome, would be his replacement as owner. The younger Hoffman Jr. was characterized by sources high up in the Texas Rangers hierarchy as generous when it comes to money and understanding when it comes to management.

Those always happen. I had 3 owners die one season. We want the players and coaches to die

I would like to see teams be sold from time to time. Just not realistic for a team to be passed down from father to son over and over over a span of hundreds of years.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

OOTP owners are the digital version of the Wilpons. No matter what you do -- Ponzi scheme, sexual harassment lawsuit, god-awful team, fan unrest -- the family just won't go away!

If you're the commissioner you can make them go away...

Yea, but you have to overwrite them and it's not noted in your history

Wish there was an option in TEAM SETTINGS where you could replace the Owner and the AI prompts you to chose Death,Sale,Banned or other. Then it takes you to the storyline option where you could choose 10 different storylines per choice (except OTHER where you would have to create your own from scratch)

Tell Bud Selig and his puppet, Rob Manfred, that.

Any actuaries on the board? I would love to see what the mortality tables for a OOTP owner looks like.

That's a really good idea. Could I get you to post that in the OOTP 16 Suggestions thread?

Well, I actually did write Bud a letter about removing Loria for the good of the game and later on another one about doing the same thing to the Wilpons. Didn't get an answer back to either one.

Its strange that owners die but players live for ever,if players croaked you could have a daily 'They who served' feature in the newspaper.

Maybe when a player is drafted, they inject some kind of serum into them that makes them immortal?

You can't answer something you never read in the first place.
