anything silver or below is a complete toss up. you can keep running the same roster out there and get swept round one or make the finals. I like taking my free shot with some cards Ive never used before

At some point I figure I'll finally win a diamond pack from one of those and I can rejoice as I pull a live Severino

I won that tournament, beat the guy that swept you

It's a crazy format, I was facing elimination in like 8 games but somehow survived and was the last man standing. Too bad the reward for finishing 2nd (3k PP) was better than my reward (5 regular packs) but hey, free packs, I'm not gonna complain

I'm suprised I won the tournament because tbh I didn't prepare at all and put my roster together in like 2 minutes.

I got caught flat-footed with rewards being rolled out this week ahead of schedule. So I scrambled to put some potential theme rosters together tonight. I put a diamond open roster together that should be pretty competitive. I also put together gold and silver rosters, but I have to wait until I get eliminated from some other tournaments before I can enter into those.

Word of advice for all us tourney noobs...save your roster work often. Export whenever you have something "finished" and it should get easier and easier to pop into tourneys with importing pre-set lineups.

Aside from making some lineups, I did come in 3rd/4th in a 64-team open tourney with some heavy hitters, so I'll gladly add that 500 PP to my account. lol

Knocked out the Doha Oilers in a Silver tournament.

My life is complete.

My approach to a 1750 roster cap is probably not unique (although few people will be able to field the roster in this form) and this will take a number of iterations to find out what works and what doesn't, but I am committed to take all the flak you got for this roster:

My 1st tournament is over. Best of 7 Gold & under 32 teams...

I put a roster together in about 5 minutes yesterday, yeah, felt a little sloppy today when I was eliminated in the 2nd round of 16 but NOT UNTIL THEN. I made it past round 1, 4-3 over the Adrestian Black Eagles. The Provo Mud Cats beat me 4 out of 6 in round 2.

I was sort of just dipping my foot in...& it was a nice 'something else' while the season is playing out. It's nice to feel fine and have a format about using some of the cards I kept even though I knew I wasn't likely to use them in seasons... And I'll probably be entering more tournaments...The kind of team I field is probably going to depend ...not so different from the way all the tournament formats are different, I will probably put my teams together like a mad or at least quirky chef on the fly.

Four players whose primary position is 2B. Interesting.

Well... I have Carew as DH, Haggerty as super utility, and Hoerner because I had no points left and needed a 40 corpse. In reality Oquendo is the only real second baseman there.

I'm very interested in the cap tourneys but apparently they don't work yet. Don't want to dedicate the time to making a roster until then while I can still play silver and bronze roulette

Seemed like I was getting lit up in tournaments yesterday only to log in today and find I won a diamond pack for winning the "Q-Open-Bo7-T64-ID1" tourney. Beat some huge whales en route, including the Brooklyn Dodgers, Ann Arbor Space Cadets, Trenton Christians, and Buffalo Bulls. Three of those series went to 7 games. In the championship series against Buffalo, we actually went down 3-0 and rattled off 4 straight (3-1, 2-1, 1-0, 7-0) to take that sweet diamond pack.

It's exciting watching basically random games of teams and players and seeing what happens

I'd love these Live tournaments at the start of a new MLB season, be great to see many more players and get to know teams better imo.

Ugh. Came four wins away from a diamond pack.

At least this is validation that my silver team that I came up with is really good.

Here is what I came up with for a 1st draft at a silver team. Note: I know it's silver and under, but I NEED them all to be silver cards. Yet another manifestation of my MINT card OCD I guess.

Tony Pena (C), Frank Howard (DH), Curt Flood (CF), Julio Franco (2B), and Gregg Jefferies (1B) are platooning with some of those lefty bats.

Team could probably use some Groat and a bit more Puk? Starting pitching seems ultra weak after looking at 99 and 100-tier cards for so long.

Is this a new card on offer? Or did I miss out when I completed the Cardinals mission?

That is brand new. There was definitely not a perfect Ted Simmons in the Cardinals missions. Could you post the specs?

That's all they show. It will be the only one in the game, unless they offer it in other tournaments, too.
