Portland Team Names?
My fictional league has a team in Portland, I can't think of any appropriate names for them. I like names that have some sort of historical or geographical significance. I don't use re-treads like Beavers or Mavericks.
Suggestions? |

As an Oregon native for several years, I generally stick with Pioneers, Greens, or Timbers.

I forgot Pioneers, I've used them several times. Either the colors/logos from Sacred Heart U or the blue/silver logos from Wilkes Barre's Arena Football team.

Loggers. Some good uniforms in the Daniel Saline's USBL thread, too.

I named my portland team the ducks... meh, but not a high priority for me (naming).
a big part of my choice is being able to find pre-made / gathered images for the uniforms and such. added 10 teams to a 2016 MLB league, so i wasn't doing any arts and crafts for them all, lol. i rely on real stuff, because i don't do artsy stuff well, lol. if that's a concern look over sports names that relate - easy to rip their logos from websites, and if not abstract likely in the forums already. |

For OOTP clubs based in Portland, there is only one right answer, and that answer is "Raccoons."

Psilocybins ? team name..
"A psilocybin player has decided to lie down on the centerfield grass while running his fingers repeatedly over his face and yelling something unintelligible to his OF compatriots. Apparently now, he thinks the outfield grass is lava and is running around in random directiosn tearing off his clothes and screaming like a mad man. In case you missed it folks, we're having a minor delay to the bottom half of the 2nd inning." it is hippy northwest, eh? Last edited by NoOne; 03-05-2017 at 05:09 PM. |

Loggers, owing to the presence of the logging industry which fueled Portland's growth early on.

Lumber Jacks Explorers Express xpress Loggers Outdoorsmen (ok, may be we're getting ridiculous now) repetitive and generic to some degree but they all seem to work. |
