Cards overall rating

On what is it based on?

I know and in fact use for my advantage, that it doesn't matter as much if you find the right players for your strategy and platoon, but still some of them look really weird to me, specially for Pitchers, that have less ratings to differentiate them than fielders.

I have seem SP with 60 65 60 ratings with a similar overall than for example 85 70 80 pitchers so I wonder if i'm missing something when evaluating them. Is fielding/holding runners/stamina (over 70) comparable to stuff/movement/control on importance?

I'll try to find some samples if needed.

IIRC, stamina is a fairly large factor in SP rating.

I don't recall ever seeing the formula/programming behind the Overall being posted. Only the devs would know what it is if they haven't shared it and AFAIK it hasn't been. That being said, you'll be better off ignoring them and using the ratings when evaluating.

For SPs particularly the LIVE players have significantly lower ratings (particularly diamond ones) than historical players with the same OVRs.

What does this number mean?

On the card art next to the overall rating there is typically a smaller number and either a red negative or a green positive number.

In the example above what does the "+3" arrow up mean?

It's the adjustment made based on their real life(LIVE) performance. When they perform better than expected(so the default +/- 0), they get +X; if they perform worst than expected, they get -X.

More precisely, it means that card started off the season as a 60, and his overall has risen 3 points since then.
