tmbu has an opening
League Name: The Moneyball Union
Forum: TMBU Forum League Reports: TMBU League Reports Email Address: kestu_2000 at yahoo.com Players: Fictional Teams: 28 Open Teams: 4 League Start Date: 2023 Current Season: 2073 (currently in offseason) Salary Cap: $85 million Sim Schedule: M/W/F Sim Length: 10 days Ratings: Talent only We currently have an opening for our Houston franchise. We are in the beginning stages of our 50th season and have the amateur draft right around the corner. The league has been around since December 2003 (real time) and has a great core group of owners. The Houston franchise was one of our expansion teams that started back in 2062 and was run by our previous commissioner, so they are in very good shape. In their 11 year history they have had only 5 losing seasons, made 4 playoff appearances and won one championship. The previous owner was one of our original owners, and ran two teams over his 50 seasons of involvement, winning a total of 4 titles. A low payroll ($64M), solid roster and a lot of cash makes this a great team for someone interested in making their mark in this league. If you're interested in joining a fun league with great long-term ownership with lots of history, send me a PM or email. Ideally we'd like an experienced GM to take over this team so please include your OOTP experience in your message. Thanks. Last edited by Keith Stuart; 07-28-2014 at 09:08 PM. |

I am interested but I am also new. What can I do, or better yet what do I need to do to get started?
Maybe I should have said this as well. I do play OOTP allot, just not the online stuff. Sorry I guess I should have stated in initial message. I am very interested though. Trying to get my foot in the door. Last edited by SimCiv4Life; 09-26-2014 at 11:42 AM. |

Bump for a great league. I run the Washington franchise, which historically has been great. Going to make a solid run at the playoffs this season.
Milwaukee is currently the only team open. They made it to the playoffs with 99 wins last year, rolling with an interesting platoon based lineup. They have a very solid veteran pitching staff. Should be easy to compete, or blow up with their talent at the deadline. A great opportunity for someone looking to join our league, as their is ample talent and value to get started. |

The Halifax Osprey are now open. We just finished our 2074 season, so now is a great time to get started as the offseason starts on Monday.
Halifax is one of the newer franchises in the league - having joined via expansion back in 2062. The future looks bright for this franchise, with a good young core, but they need someone ready to take them to the next level. Message me if you are up to the challenge... |

Halifax has been taken and Connecticut is now open. The offseason just started this week - Connecticut is a good rebuilding project for those that like a good challenge and it's still a good time to get in, prior to Rule 5, FA, etc, etc.
Message me if you are interested. |

Bump. We have a couple more teams open. The new Halifax owner fell through and while Connecticut is full, we also have openings in New York and San Diego. Come check us out. We have a dedicated group of owners and a very good commish.

A little about each of the teams available:
NY - This team is probably the furthest away from contending, but still has a top half of the league farm system with several very promising prospects. NY got neglected for a while, a new owner came in that was promising and doing good stuff, but he had to step down due to family reasons. Halifax - Has a promising farm system with a couple top pitching prospects, and some good talent in the majors. Anchor of the staff just had a Cy Young caliber year on a losing team, so there is long term potential here. San Diego - San Diego is basically just lacking pitching to be a contender. They are pretty stacked offensively, with arguably one of the top hitters in the game, and a perennial MVP candidate. They have 3 prospects in the top 21 overall, including two pitchers. The future looks pretty good for San Diego. |

It has been a while, but Halifax is now open. It's a rebuilding project but they have plenty of good prospects down on the farm ready to help you reach .500 for only the third time in their brief history (Halifax was an expansion team and joined the league 14 years ago). If you get a thrill out of rebuilding teams, this could be a great project for you. PM me if interested.

We are about to enter spring training and two teams have recently opened up. The first is Halifax which is explained above - which is a rebuilding project and Milwaukee which has lost around 100 games each of the last 3 seasons after winning around 100 the previous 3 is also a rebuild. Both have roughly top 10 minor league systems per the OSA, so the cupboard is not bare. Send me a PM or email if you are interested.
