Also look at how common the name may or may not be. It's not IMPOSSIBLE that and asian guy from canada could have that name. just more unlikely. However I do have some very english names coming from a league I made in israel

no comment on Lee Lee, but there are plenty of chinese in Toronto. might not be a common name, but not hugely suprising and certainly not a bug.

There's 400,000 Chinese in Toronto (roughly).

Canada as a nation is set up to grab 65% English Canadian, 30% French Canadian and 5% Chinese, at least I thought that was it. We have the ability to change each nation to add up to three name sets to draw from. You could set it to 100% English Canadian if you wanted too

There is no Israeli name file by default, so the names for Israeli players will use the U.S. set. Sorry about that!

Very good game though from my look, worth my money, if overwhelming.
Dude, that's not a weird name for a Torontonian. ~40% of the city's population is foreign born. You should see my name!

lol I really doubt Markus and co. were thinking of israel when making ootp2006. I don't even know why I have a league there. Besides it seems to be a mix of US and general middle eastern names so no bother. I know plenty of americans who live in the middle east so it's definatly reasonable to say if there were baseball there US names would show up.

S'funny. That's phonetically similar to my name. I would be listed under either Miami, FL, or New York City, NY, depending.

We're not all Michaels and Johns outside of China.

Yeah we were limited to 40 name sets to cover most of the world. You can however make an Israeli set and substitute it for one of the other sets and change the nation frequency, if you wanted to do that

Any time any one needs help doing it, PM me

94,Israel,Israel,ISR,Israeli,3,2,0,75,17,25,,

75% of Israeli names will be generated from name set 0, and 25% from name set 17.

Name set 0 = USA
Name set 17 = Arabic ( I think . . .)

At this point, I don't think there is a Hebrew name set, but there are slots in names.txt for such an addition, and Israel can handle at least two more name sets.

Maybe Russian could/should be added.

Since MD doesn't seem to be around at the moment, let me fill in for him by saying:

The ONLY way to be running a realistic sim is to be using that name file. The name file MUST be right. You must be WRONG.
