Player not retiring according to history

I've noticed that Jimmy Wood is suppose to retire at the end of 1873 but
doesn't. I have the retire according to history on. I do see other players retiring as they should. Not sure why Jimmy doesn't want to retire.
He wasn't that good anyway.

Yes this feature has been broken since the last patch

It may just be players from defunct teams. So far every player has been from a team that folded during the season. If thats the case then that makes it easier has i can just retire any player left from a defunct team.

Actually this happen to me in the dead-ball ERA..like I say it is not working as intended in any era.

They made some changes in the default historical database in the last patch and then this occurred afterward. It was working as intended pre patch

The interesting thing about retirements is that since the last patch in my historical random debut, I've seen batch retirements. To the point where suddenly there are no free agents in my free agent pool on the first day of the offseason, which is very bizarre. I've never seen this before either. I will check and see if it happens again this season, but it's just...weird. Usually I have some leftover free agents hanging around holding out hope for a job. It's very important to have them when you're playing with injuries because, regardless of how bad they are, they are still potential replacements for injured players.

I also think I read another thread about this topic somewhere (perhaps in the bug forum), so I don't think you're alone in your experience, and of course Scoman has experienced it too, so while it does suck to see this, at least you're not alone in your experience.

It happened again after the 1906 season. All players in the free agent pool (except for one) up and retired. Ridiculous. Has to be a bug of some kind, but I don't know how they're going to address it given that it seems to only be happening with random debut. I decided to unretire those under the age of 35 so I can have some sort of a free agent pool. I know this is tangential to what you guys are reporting, but it all may be connected somehow, as it has to do with free agents, so that's why I'm posting here.

Im getting alot of free agent retirements too in my historical replay now that you mention it. Its not a huge deal for me as I just unretire them as needed...but its happening very very frequently

Hmmm...And this is a straight historical as opposed to random debut? It looks like there's two different things going on here, but they definitely fall under the same sub-section: retirement. Seems like some don't want to retire when they're supposed to, and others just retire and take all the free agents with them. Oye!

If someone has a save or a backup from right before the off-season please send it over to us to look at. Or if not, please give some instructions on what types of setup and options show this and we can look at it more. I believe there were some changes in the last patch to more dynamically retire players so possible that some combo of settings is causing an issue.
