Real minor leaguers

This may have already been asked but I couldn't find it.

Let's say I start with the 1961 season and want to play every year until 1970. Is there a way that I can use the real minor leaguers from those years instead of fictional draftees?

I've never heard of a way...

Another question though: Can you play out your minor league team's games?

You can't see the minor league games, but I believe the minor league teams play the same schedule as the teams in the majors. So if Boston and New York are playing, their minor league clubs are playing one another.

If you do historical, the only minor leaguers you'll have are those players from the import who are designated to play in the minors. It's also not a good idea to fill the minor leagues with fictional players in a historical replay, you are likely going to end up with some of those fictionals making it into the majors.

Minor League Database

I am thinking of ordering the minor league database to address this problem. The database advertises that it starts in 1937. I need some players to fill up my Southern teams that I added to my historical replay.

Caution: you would very likely have to enter these manually since the Lahman format is the only one supported by OOTP.

Old Minor Leaguers

Oh, I'm aware of this. I already do this with my Pacific Coast League Teams. For those looking for those players, I recommend Dennis Snelling's The Pacific Coast Leage: A Statistical History.

I was just asking if anyone had ordered this Minor League Database before I plop down my 35 bucks or so...(I forget the exact amount the man wants)

Couldn't he theoretically just revise the sheets to mirror Lahman, i.e. change the headers accordingly. I don't know, as I've never seen the minor league database. But I would think it's done somewhat similarly.
