A request to the developers: Add Females
Is there any chance you could add an option to edit the player's gender ?
Cuz i really want to play some female characters with my editing. Also, i found out there is a huge of players postseason stats blank in ootp17, i wonder if u can cover it up in the future patch. Thanks. Last edited by Funnyhaha; 03-30-2016 at 04:29 PM. |

It's not an option that the vast majority of customers care about, so i highly doubt you will see that.

OOTP players are genderless as it stands. This only really becomes an issue if you want to track gender in-game or utilize FaceGen. And I don't want to be a sexist jerk here, but the list of women who have ever played against a professional baseball team even in exhibitions is very, very low. There aren't even women's leagues out there the way there are with boxing or basketball (what women's ball-and-stick leagues there are tend to be softball).
I'm not completely against this idea - the idea of reviving the AAGPBL and continuing it to the present day is intriguing - but I can also totally understand if Markus and co. want to concentrate on things that have more of an actual presence in the current or historical game.

I seem to remember this issue being raised when v16 came out, although I believe it was specifically regarding owners (i.e. When the owner dies, why not have the daughter take over; or have another Marge Schott).
From what I recall of the discussion, it was too difficult because a lot of the pronouns were hard coded, and it would be a nightmare to update them all for such a small group that's specifically looking for it. If it's a nightmare to update just the owners, I imagine it would be exponentially more difficult to update the players (and coaches/mangers). |

The player generation system would have to be duplicated as women are significantly smaller on average.

Thats the only annoying thing with women in my leagues. I will go through the draft pool and names like Ashley, Brook (e), and other names that go both ways i have to go into each and change the players height and weight along with some attributes such as power.

I'm not sure what this discussion is even about.
This is suppose to be a true, accurate baseball game, not an arcade game. In the history of baseball not one female has ever played in an actual official game. The day when one plays then they will add females. Period, end of discussion, next question please. Note: The day they add female players is the day I find a new game.
