Foreign player not allowed in Historical mode now?

Hi. Until about yesterday i was able to put in USA as a second nationality on a player from outside north america, but now it says he is not allowed to sign with a foreign country?

It may determine where the Player is actually from. The game takes note of when particular players actually showed up in the NHL. Again, quoting from the manual:

Note: while Eastern European players may appear in the database well before their real arrival date in the NHL, they will be prevented from signing with NHL teams before the late 1980's, when such players were actually allowed to leave their Soviet-bloc teams. The exception is players who actually defected prior to that point, e.g. the Stastny brothers or Alexander Mogilny. So before drafting a Russian superstar in 1978, you may want to do a little research to determine if he isn't going to be signable until 1989.

I'm doing custom players which until just recently could be signed if their second nationality was set as US or Canada. Now they need to get that nationality as their first country, which is a little bit unfotunate becouse they now will have that countrys flag on the roster instead of the european one.

Strange, it should accept either nationality slot for that rule. I'll have to do a little checking and see what's going on there.
