I've got Personality Ratings and Morale System turned off...
...And I just received an update from my bench coach on Team Chemistry. Huh? Before anyone asks why I have these settings turned off, I'll just intervene and quote The Wolf: "It's my game. I'll play it my way." I turn them off because I like baseball, not the day-to-day soap opera that can come with it. I know a lot of work has gone into this area of the game (as well as every other area of the game) but it is my preference to play without it, and I believe that if I have elected to play without Personality Ratings and the Morale System then I shouldn't have to be worried about who's getting in whose hair in the clubhouse. Definitely a first world problem, and small potatoes in comparison to some other issues that need fixing, but I thought I should chime in nonetheless.

I think its just a scheduled update in the game, and the actual chemistry will have no effect on your game.
I believe the game is just following procedure which says "Send this email at this time" and not considering the setting at all. I could be wrong, but it sounds like a pretty common bug in a lot of games with custom settings. Good news is I imagine it'd be an easy fix for the devs when they get around to it, as it would just be an If/Then statement. (If player has setting deselected, then don't send this email.) EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I understand how it would break your immersion a touch, and definitely won't be commenting on your choice of gameplay.

Yeah, sorry, email shouldn't go out in that case. Noted and it will be fixed in the next patch, you won't get those emails if not playing with morale.

I sometimes play with these settings off as well actionjackson, so no need to be defensive. Usually I leave them on, but at times, when for example you want to slowly build a winner from scratch (a great pleasure, as opposed to immediately winning it all and then confronting boredom), and the griping is filling your news and mail it is annoying (same with owner demands). Like you, I like baseball more than running a business or a therapy ward. Otherwise I would play "Out of the Park Wall St. CEO" but since I avoided that rat race in real life, I don't see the fun in simulating it either. Even monopoly is not really my bag.
But I digress. So turn it off. When you have Don Mattingly, but the AI is telling you that he only thinks about himself (this really got sent to me) and the team is winning, if not contending but everyone is griping, it is not very realistic. Okay, the choice of which players are leaders is arbitrary, and having clubhouse leaders is important, but sometimes you are interested in other aspects of the team. So, while fun sometimes, shut it off when necessary. |

Thanks Matt! No need for an apology. The vast array of ways to play this game is what makes it great. With all those different ways of playing for different players, there are bound to be some brain farts here and there. Thanks for the speedy reply.

Totally agreed. I know of at least 4 things we've been able to get in/fixed for next patch just because of how vigilant Mr. Arnold has been...it is truly, truly appreciated!! Thank you so much!

Thanks. All this is just proof that I spend way too much time browsing the forums, I think.

Not at all. You're balancing the act pretty well, my friend.
