That's all I have at this point, the rest of the European Leagues have proven to be more elusive. I have zipped up everything up to this point and uploaded it to Mediafire, the download link is in the first post.

Also, a few above have asked about team info. Wikipedia has several good articles on history/locations of teams. You can start with the honkbal site and go from there: Baseball in the Netherlands - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

The fourth tier is the amateur 26-team Serie "B" Federale.
A few notes - I'm not 100% sure that the Jolly Roger logo is the right logo. Olmedo's jersey and cap are based on a really, really low-res photo I found, and their logo is pure conjecture based off of that image. Hungary has a relatively small setup. The top tier is the 4-team NBI:

Slovakia is home to the 7-team 1 Liga:
1. baseballovı klub Slávia UPJŠ Seals Košice Baseballovı klub Apollo Bratislava Baseballovı oddiel ŠKP Los Toreros Topolcany BC Slovan Bratislava Športovı klub Trencín Pegasus TJ Slávia STU Spiders Bratislava TJ STU Angels Trnava Four Slovakian clubs also plays a mixed schedule with four Hungarian clubs, known as Interliga. The schedules are intertwined, although the standings (and, I think, the stats) are kept separate. There is one Interliga club in Slovakia that doesn't play in another league (as far as I can tell) known as the Fighting Flies Bratislava. Last edited by eriqjaffe; 05-23-2012 at 10:22 AM. |

Thanks!
Oh, sure, there are leagues of some sort in most European countries. The hard part is digging up enough information on them to put together a complete league. Additionally, the farther into Eastern Europe I go, the more the language barrier gets in the way. Google Translate can only get me so far when it comes to places that use a Cyrillic alphabet. These are amazing! Thanks alot for taking the time and effort! As one of the poster said here in Europe we thank you!!
I just wanted to leave some comments to some of the questions I noticed.. I play for the Oldham North Stars here in the UK. As for the standard of the UK league.. The top league is decent but I'd doubt would be anywhere near even say a very poor US college/high school team. There is a team in the top league that uses some Japanese students so there will be some better pleyers obviously but it's all strickly amateur! However the current coach of team GB is Sam Dempster < some of you North Americans might have head of him. Had the pleasure of him doing a training session at the North Stars. As for the other Euro leagues, in terms of strength and playing quality you'd be looking at a list something like.. 1st Holland 2nd Italy 3rd Czech 4th German 5th Austrian 6th French You can earn money playing in Holland as it's a pro league. Italy is a pro league also. Czech you can earn some money but I'd imagine it's semi-pro and only the 2 or so imports would get some spends and some place to sleep but the MLB often does a European try out in Czech Republic. Germany again a player or 2 might get some spends whilst playing there. Supposedly players have been paid playing in Austria and France too. Holland and Italy are by far the best nations, especially at league level. Players would earn I'd suspect around $1,000 a month (this would have to be for the better player) as these teams actually get fans and will have some form of stadium to seat a few hundred to a thousand spectators say. Anyway sorry for all that just wanted to give some info of baseball this side of the water! The info won't be 100% accurate but it's what i've learnt from research over the years. |
