10 PA, 8 hits, 1 BB, 1 SF over 2 games

I play out all of my games for over 20 seasons and don't recall a 2 game performance quite like this.

My C was off to a slow start. Considered giving him a day off but thought "what the hell, I'll run him out there today and see if he finds his stroke". Gave me a 5-5 and then the next day comes back with a 3-3, BB, and SF. Streak included 7 straight hits, followed by the BB, a double, then finally the SF. Should have negotiated an extension two days ago

law of independent results - if hes your best catcher and not tired... keep playing him.

a lesser-rated catcher is more likely to do worse even if a small sample suggests otherwise.

i'm stating to think something is 'unseen' as far as ability or reaching it etc (current, not potential). i have seen plenty of similarly rated players and some are like clockwork, some take a few years before their stats resemble their current ratings, and some are just more volatile than others. could just be luck of the draw too.

still playing ootp18, i have a catcher with the best ratings i've seen in 67 years in this league. he's still is underperforming after ~300 games relative to lesser catchers i've had.. (technically 'lesser' but typically a top ~5 or better offensive catcher in league at any time on my team)
