When You Play The Game, Where Do You Imagine Being?
Before we know it, OOTP 18 will be part of the present instead of the future. I recall there being some thread about the interface, and that got me thinking, what other things could the game offer from an aesthetics standpoint to make it more "cozy" to say the least? I suddenly remembered that I used to play a game on my Nintendo Gamecube called All Star Baseball 2004. I don't know if many of you remember this game, but I'm certain that at least a few people in the community do. I remember that the game wasn't particularly flashy. Instead of relying in cool graphics, the presentation was very gritty, and I loved it for that. As you navigate through the games features, you see screenshots that put you in a baseball clubhouse setting. Seen in the attachment below are screenshots throughout the game. The GM's office is present, and you really feel like you're in an old time front office area at a baseball stadium. At least, that's how I felt. Personally, I would love it if the Manager's Office tab in OOTP for example, had a photo of an actual managers office in the background, to really put you in that world. I'm not entirely sure how such detail could be implemented, but if this can give the developers some extra inspiration, I'm happy to provide it through a trip into the past.

I have the Braves logo (like the one across their home jersey) in tile as my screensaver. Kinda gives that feeling of having the big board the MLB teams have for press and media gatherings. You know...where the team logo and a company logo is a repeated pattern behind the dais and microphones. Kinda lame on my part, but the more the imagination can come up with.......
